 Sounds ok to me but then I'm a rifle shooter.

I have been doing that for the past few months at the action pistol matches.  It works for me.

Lets me get on target and shoot quicker and score as well or better than the extra second to get fully sighted and focused on the front one.

I've been doing that since the 90s. I even blacked out the sights on my glock with electrical tape to confirm I was shooting instinctively.

another benefit of red dot sights is that you are naturally target focused, the dot just superimposes.
