Title: Hi Power and 1911 Crossbreed?
Post by: Nemo on October 25, 2021, 12:24:13 PM
This looks interesting.  Very Interesting.

Don't call it a classic.  But its close (IMHO)

Seems like that P35 had some strong genes in there although certainly some 1911 influences.

A lot yes.  But I see 1911 properties.  Remember Saint John Moses created both.

It is nothing but a Hi-Power (GP-35) with the various "upgrades" that are common in the type already installed.  That is not a knock on them, I like the Hi-Power.  The SA looks identical to the Portuguese variant I just sold that I put the upgrades (hammer, safety, trigger, sights) into.  I wonder if the SA has removed the mag disconnect which is the most common "upgrade" many people do to their Hi-Powers.

I will pick one up for the sub $700 price tag just to get a good look at it. I like SA 1911s and it will be interesting to see the build quality in these.

I believe its the lower youtube link above that discusses the disconnected magazine safety.

I dont know if i can get any stranger......at least that what the wife says  :o.

You will be seeing more of me now that we are out this past busy season.  The combination of great orders but dismal supply chain performance led to one of the most difficult high seasons I have had.

As it has started slowing I have been able to get to a few training classes which were very important to my overall sanity ;D.
