LOL.. Its on top to help me remember where my checkweld is. On the bottom because when I do a fast "tactical" reload with the stock in the folded position I sometimes scrap it. Tape helps keeps the finish. :p

in order to change the bolt from right to left, do you have to buy a new bolt with a lefty charging handle, or can you literally just take it out and roll it over to the other side?

You may be able to get away with some funky cutting and welding, but likely not with how it unlocks at the knob.
It'd still be pretty weird even if you could for many reasons. LH actions are easy to find, if you needed help,
or needed a custom gun like either of the ones pictured but LH- it's been done.

It is for me. All around. I have experience with civi and non-civi versions. My own heavy had more than 6K through it.
That's more than some people EVER shoot believe it or not. They fit my needs, worth it for me.

Not exactly "thread in"...but it's not unheard of to use one action and several compatible but different caliber barrels if you have the tools and the know how.

Bottom one isn't the oddball, middle is. It's a .458 SOCOM. Doesn't use the same type of bolt, it uses a a smaller .223 bolt.
I guess the comp isn't blended in all that well on the bottom one. Maybe that's why it looks off to you?

Glass acquired. Same scope that is contracted and specific to the M24. A match made in heaven. I have the H58 reticle though.
Not gonna lie, pretty boss. I need to order some screws for my Bipod QD mount and it's over and done with...
I've never actually shot a .300WM, but I will this weekend and I haven't been this enthusiastic about shooting in a long, long time.

Its normal size... the long bell is just a screw on sunshade. You can see the line where the actual scopes bell ends. I have a sunshade for my scope but never used it as i feel like the shade adds a lot more leverage to the scope being knocked out of zero in the field. Just personal preferance.
