Glock Triggers?
« on: September 02, 2012, 08:58:28 PM »
I've got a question for all the Glock fanboys...

What I have
A 3.5# connector with a N.Y. 1 spring ~ It gives around a 4.5# pull with a mushy break, and about the same travel & reset as a stock trigger.

What I want
A 4.5# trigger with a crisp break and minimal travel & reset.

Any reasonably priced suggestions?

I dont know much but i just tested my stock glock and its around a 5.5lb trigger pull and the factory setup is crisp as hell with a great reset position for a striker fire pistol in my opinion. Shoot an XD for a while it makes the Glock trigger feel amazing lol

just my .02

I'm with all the Glock haters when they talk shit on the trigger. it's crap compared to others out there. BUT... don't compare it to a goddamn rifle trigger. it's a striker fired pistol. it's no good any further than 25yds, and I can't figure out how people feel the need for "crisp" triggers at such close range.

for example, my 1911's trigger put's my Glock's trigger to shame, but they both hit center of body mass within effective range. I know this doesn't exactly address the question in the OP, but more-so the root principal of the topic.

Well NOLA i think theres always chances of misses when under stress and i think many try to reduce the chance of misses. A lighter smoother trigger pull might be the difference between a total miss or a hit on the shoulder, Or perhaps a hit on vitals or a inaffective hit. And i can assure you a pistol can get hits beyond 25 yds reliably if its all youve got. Personally i try to leave guns as stock as possible and with a glock trigger being what it is i cant justify tampering with it to get another 1% out of my pistol.

well of course they can go further than that, but I wouldn't want to push it unless I had no choice. my only point was that a "crisp" trigger pull only really makes a difference when shooting at rifle distances. anything inside of pistol territory isn't subject to such subtle changes in dynamic. if you miss center of body mass then it's because you flinched, or just can't use your damn sights. a 3.5lb trigger isn't going to land a vital hit where a 5.5lb would miss. it boils down to shooter error at that point. like I said, just my .02

I think the stock trigger is fine. After a couple thousand rounds it smooths out considerably as well.

The only thing i do to modify the trigger is on my glock 19 I put a smooth face 17 trigger in it cause I don't like the little ridges on the compact and subcompacts.
It's better to have it and not need it ...

I've been very happy with my factory triggers.. Sorry I can't be more helpful but I don't know a thing about it.  [img]http://www.arrse.co.uk/at
