What we can see in some ways from this pandemic is a silver lining. I am not talking about the loss of salaries, damage to the economy or apparent willingness of many to give up their rights in the face of fear. If we use any situation to learn from thhen this situation will go a long way toward helping all of us in our preparations. It has helped to identify shortcomings to be corrected and weaknesses or things we havnt thought of so they can be addresses.
One thing I have seen drop off significantly is training. This is ironic as for the last 6 weeks we have seen record firearm sales and insane runs on ammunition. For many we have actually had more "free" time to be able to get some training in. If you planned head you have ammo to be able to continue to train, while adding in some more non firing evolutions to conserve ammo. You can get in great training sessions without burning tons of ammo.
This is written from the direction of firearm training, but holds true for comms, HUMINT, and medical!
Ammo is starting to flow from manufacturers and distributors, and other than a few shitty companies prices will be or already are back in line. Dont let your supply be the excuse to see a drop in proficiency.
Recently I have been working on my pistol, precision rifle and night navigation and patrol.

Up here I've seen more people at the range.

No opportunity for training shall be wasted.
Buddy of mine in isolation has no place to go to work..lives in the boonies.. but he is turning his ammo stash to good use and is training a couple times a week now on his property..
Of course not everyone can be that luck... but still..

There are still some trainers, training. I highly recommend NC Scout over a Brushbeater. (https://brushbeater.wordpress.com/training-calendar/)

That the guy a ways down the road from me? Assuming so, he got one nice place and a bit more instruction is always a good idea.

Yupper. I would guess a little less than 2-hrs from your AO. Just across the NC/VA. border.
I would start out with the RTO and Adv RTO classes. You do not need to have a ham license to go.

I think we think of 2 different places. I went to one with Erick, 75 mins away and burned near a 500 round case shooting learning. I needed the box (and the box of my f-150) to bring home the stuff I learned I couldn't fit inside my head. This one was still in Va.

I still would very much like to get down there to train with NCScout and hopefully a few of you gents. I have been mainly training either individually or with a small group of guys that I know and respect in my primary AO. I am heading back up to northern NH this coming weekend for a 7 day training period. We will be working mainly small unit patrolling and scoped carbine(DMR/SPR).
