Hi Point Carbines

For the past months I've been looking into buying a pistol caliber carbine and the Hi Point carbines have gotten me interested. I have read reviews saying they are reliable and feed brass and steel case ammo like nothing. My question is do you guys have any experience with these carbines and if you do give me your feedback. By the way the model I'm referring to  the Tactical Stock model.

I prefer the Kel-Tec sub-2000 for this role.  The Hi-Point carbines are significantly heavier and use a proprietary magazine.  The Sub-2000's are much lighter and use common mags (glock OR beretta OR sig.)

The Kel-Tec's were on my list until I found out about the prices skyrocketing during the shortage also I have not found one Kel-Tec in months. I do however I do like the idea it can take different mags and it can fold making it easier for transport. If Kel-Tecs were more reasonably priced and available I would definitely buy one but the Hi Points are more available and better priced.

No experience here but it would be nice if your pistol and carbine used the same magazine.

I also vastly prefer the KelTec for that role - two reasons, folds up and 30 round mags are easy to come by.  This is ignoring the generally bad rep that HiPoint products have.  That being said I don't see this as a role I need filled and and currently trying to sell my Sub 2000. To bad you don't live within driving distance.

I wish I had some serious dinero, but seriously I heard both Kel Tec and Hi Point carbines are good so I'm going to try both of them and give both of them a chance its just that Hi Point is all I can afford for the moment. Out of curiosity how much are you asking for your Sub 2000.

I see them for $500 on Gunbroker, so that is my starting point

You guys are either to young or to ignorant ( probably a combination of both ) even think about the old classic.

The Camp Carbine.
had one in.45 took 1911 magazine's.  Brilliant rifle. They make um in 9mm too not sure of the magazine's though. I think they use P series magazine's.

This may be old but I have a Hi Point 9mm carbine and C9 pistol strapped up with a BOB that is packed and designed for my wife, and she does not even know about any of it.  Should it be necessary she will learn fact.

Hi Points are big, ugly and solid, reliable and backed by their manufacturer.  No questions asked, lifetime warranty.  You just cannot hurt them.
