Fight Like A Girl
« on: September 14, 2013, 01:01:32 PM »
This is a very well researched and written article describing lessons learned from the attack of a woman in a parking garage.  She had a knife to her throat and decided to fight back.

Since we are having more ladies join the site I thought this would be good to get out there.  I've also sent it to Lady Doc and my daughters.

Mentioned in the article is a link to another good article from Police One.

"If she had seen him approaching could she have been made aware an attack was imminent through pre-fight indicators? Would he have asked a question? Would her guard have been down because he was dressed nicely and it was the middle of the day? Would she have gotten a gut feeling that something was off? Would she have seen something in his hand? Perhaps his hands would have been hidden? What, if any, pre-fight indicators would he have been displaying?"

Good articles!  There's a book called "The Gift of Fear" by Gavin de Becker.  I literally buy several copies at a time and give out copies to friends, it's that good.  It's about trusting your instincts and taking action, but it's also about that awareness level of your surroundings.

Thanks for the links to these articles.

Gift of fear is a good one.  He has another called "fear less" that I bought also but admit I never read.  GOF was good though.
