If I'm not running an A2, I run a Smith Ent. Vortex.
Not just because it is also my suppressor mount, it's also one of the best hiders around.

A2's are perfectly serviceable and work remarkably well, especially considering the price.

However, of course, I have some non-standards. Actually, I have a ton of them as I've been doing some testing. As Technique mentioned, the Vortex is great. BE Meyers makes my favorite one but it doesn't work with my cans. The AAC Blackout is in the same category as those as well. The Vltor VC-1 is also a good one. But, I think your money is likely better spent on ammunition or magazines than a fancy flash hider.

I've got a YHM Phantom on mine.  Has a nasty tip on it.

Happy with my Yankee Hill, it is a hair better in low light than an A2.  I think the Vortex is about as good but have no personal experience.  One think I hate about it is A1/A2 muzzle caps won't go over it.

I've shot my AR and AK at night several times, and have some basic low light training. The A2 didn't really have any flash I could notice while shooting, let alone with a light on the target.  My AK74s muzzle break had some flash I could see, but a very small amount, and nothing that would affect my vision.
It's better to have it and not need it ...
