The Crux Of Prepping

There is a reason why in third world country?s the main way of life is subsistence farming, and how that makes it a third world county. They live in a sense the ideal independent prepper/survivalist life style. The economy could collapse in Ethiopia and the impoverished farmer would barely notice, he would herd his cows, pump water from a hand crank well and cook on a wood fire just like any other day of his life. Ideal you say?

The element that made our society have more than we need and then some, is the notion of ?division & specialization of labor? although it would be beneficial to some degrees to able to be self sufficient by knowing how to unclog your own toilet and grow a vegetable garden, if not but to save some hassle. But a man can increase his over all standard of living by specializing in one specific field, such as plumbing or farming. As he can focus all his efforts on increasing the level of productivity whether it is by experimenting with new farming techniques or buying better tools for plumbing he can produce more of his specialized service or product, creating more wealth for himself than he would if he grew his on food and unclogged his own toilet. So the farmer can now afford to hire the plumber to redo his pipes and the plumber will have plenty of corn to go around, and they both will have money left over.

We all understand this concept to some extent but where does this tie into the now popular Prepping lifestyle, and where is the problem? It lies in the common preppers understanding of the phrase: ?Don?t just survive, thrive.?

I'm going to do this from now on with all my larger writings Nola because I've got my own blog now. The reason I got that is so I can control whether or not the information stays up on the net, because I learned my lesson from MrChokeaload.com those are all gone now except for the ones I saved.
And why would I reduce the views to my blog by posting the whole article on the forum?

Keep all your hardcopies burt, but you are sincerely prolific in your efforts. I also have a wordpress blog that I shamelessly promote (www.iambecomedeath.com).  Just know that you are appreciated.

Speaking of promoting I'd love to put a good looking Straight Prep Banner on the side of my blog but If I shrink that on you've got down to a 190pix wide it looks horrible.

Fuck 'em Burt.  Either they get it, or they don't.  Its that simple.  You can't force them to read and understand, you can only put it out there, and let them do what they will with it.  Most will not, those that do get it, probably won't comment anyway.  Only the idiots are probably commenting on it.
