news to me.
Proof that Concealed Carry permit holders live in a dream world, Part One (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8QjZY3WiO9s#)
Do me a favor and point out some of the flaws in this scenario also if this needs to be somewhere else.
Gods of SP move it please. I figured firearms and concealed was close enough to weapons for me to place it here.

put some kids in a room telling the shooter which guy has the gun place them in the front row in the center, long shirt, and holsters they arent familiar with. The whole thing was a fail to the media, how ever i bet the sheep buy it! I loved the part about all the training cops do, you know when they go to the range every 3 to 6 months to qualify and not shoot until the next qualifications. Libtard media, i would like to have a few of those glocks tho they look like fun!

This is a really good post Reaver. I agree with ASp about that some of this was liberal drivel. Also , that it takes a lot of training and practice focusing on what you're doing to be able to handle a firearm effectively in a firefight.
I think the video made that point on several occasions, over and over again as I recall. Almost like it was an unattainable goal. Which it isn't.
The fact is, have a gun, know how to use it, or be a victim should should you ever be involved in a case like this.

That might be true for some but I wouldn't take that one to the bank. Very few times have I gone to the indoor range and not seen a cop practicing in there on their own dime.
One black cop in particular is pretty damn fast with the trigger. I'm no slouch, I can put them on target pretty quick, but not as fast as this guy. Maybe in my prime I could have beat him, but damn, he's fast. It kinda sounds like a full auto when he's at the line.

they're just trying to discourage people from carrying or even having any desire to protect themselves. all they're doing is using defeatist logic to persuade people that they'll always suck with a gun, so just let the "professiono's" like the idiot with the "glock 40" handle things.
here's a short list of obvious flaws:
-intentionally picking people for the experiment who have no clue what they're doing [img]http://www.arrse.co.uk/at
-CCW under a long t-shirt [img]http://www.arrse.co.uk/at
-rigged scenario where (as others have stated) the aggressor already knows who go for
-garbage defeatist logic. the intent of this hit piece was determined in the very beginning. you go into with a negative outlook on CCW and even guns in general.
-the guy they touted as the "most experienced" seemed like all he's ever done is plinked at the range. so now the viewer is convinced that even the "experienced gun enthusiast" is a miserable failure.
-they subconciously convince the viewer that they'll never be able to practice enough to become proficient, so just don't bother.
the anti-gun bias of this video is so obvious that it'd bite you if it were a snake. and that, in tern, destroys the credibility of the so-called "experiment" because it defies the scientific method of conducting experiments. you can't go into an experiment and rig it so you can get the results you want. any logical person can understand that, but alas, logic is an unpopular thing these days.

Geez I almost had a heart attack watching this pure liberal malarkey

And that is why we spend countless hours training, So we can preform the right action under stress.

I gotta admit, I've never really had the opportunity to train under stress. all I do is practice dry-fire drills in my house. hopefully the muscle memory will come through for me if the time ever comes.
I think it was luvroffreedom76 who posted a vid a few months ago where he had someone film him training at some range somewhere where they had a whole little mock building setup with manueqins (however the hell you spell that) for BG's and for innocents and the trainer is screaming at him the whole time. boy do I wish I had something like that near me. I'd LOVE to be able to train that way.
-
yeah they put a bunch of people who have never CCWd before, and likely havent shot away from a bench before (if that) and have never trained, in a room and expect them to do anything but look bad? thats like making someone who's never wrestled, wrestle at masters. bullshit.

best thing i can simulate to stress is, sprinting up to your weapon from a good 100+yds, cranking out as many pushups as fast as you can and then manipulating your weapon, that blood flow really makes those fine movements interesting, and the heart and breathing rate helps too lol.

I've been concealed-carrying since 1994 and it DOES work. You just have to get a rig setup where the gun is accessible in a hurry AND without shooting yourself like that putz Tex Grebner. And train, train, train. [img]http://bestsmileys.com/ar

HAHA what a joke that video is... first theres no point in testing people who have little to no training. two the bad guy avoided everyone in the room and shot only at him after the teacher because he knew he had the gun. so the bad guy was already drawn like he would be in real life but unless the real life bad guys have xray vision they wont know whos going to shoot at them. three they never even taught him how to get the gun out of a concealed location and the shirt he was given for the test was purposely way too long and baggy to draw the gun correctly. four they used a damn airsoft fag. five i didnt watch beyond a couple minutes into the video because there was nothing scientific about the test because it was purposely made to fail and didnt represent real life in any way shape or form.

the only thing you can get from this video is that you should open carry and have better situational awareness 8)
