communication in combat
« on: August 06, 2013, 11:22:20 PM »
Adding a new page to my website- on how to use things like flares and smoke grenades while in contact.  This is a continuation of more stuff on tactics for the non military experienced.

I like to have some folks read things before I make it "live" so here you go.

Comments, criticisms appreciated.

LOVED IT! A "9" on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being perfect. Great job. Loved the live action. A picture is worth a 1000 words.

One suggestion might be where to find:
> Hand held flares, and
> Smoke bombs...
at the end.

In addition to their value as a communication device, flares have other utility.  They can be used for non-combat emergencies.  They are also useful for starting fires and can be a component of incendiary devices or IEDs.  Some flares are a good thing to have around.

My edit:
In addition to their value as communication devices, flares have other utilities. They can be used for non-combat emergencies, such as starting a fire. The components of a flare can have other uses and is always good idea to have some on-hand.

Currahee, I re-wrote the bit about the flares with some minor changes. Not trying to censor you or anything, but would leave the IED mention out. But it's your site, and that is up to you. Overall, I liked what you did on this. Thanks.

Leave it as it is, mention the IEDs.

What is the point of having a 1st amendment if you're going to censor yourself out of fear?

Has nothing to do with fear, but rather concern for fellow citizens and forum members.

I liked the video Currahee. I dunno why but this time it had some audio artifacts, have you changed the video encoding or something?

Also at 0:50 you have a typo, it says "corectly" instead of "correctly"

Johny, the video description lists places to get flares and smoke grenades

Crudos, I debated that one myself- but in other places on the site I discus books on IEDs and improvised explosives.  I'm already so far up on "the list" that I don't think this will matter.

APX it runs OK for me, I don't know what it could be

As always thanks for the encouragement, glad y'all didn't see any typos or blatant wrongs.

Just trying to look out for one another, but totally understand your reasoning. Rock it Currahee!  :dancingGrenade:

For those of you who like the site and videos, I would appreciate any efforts to help spread them around.  I guess that goes without saying.  Posting on FP or other forums you might visit etc.

I've put a lot of effort in to it the past few months- let's just say I've been inspired and would like to see my readership grow a bit more.  If you want- there are stickers, t-shirts and some other stuff available at CafePress.  I would just give them out if ya'll were local, but readership needs to be spread across the country.
