Originally I was thinking about putting an AK under folder stock on. But now I don't know. Anyone have any experience with this?

I have no experence with them but I always wonder (when talking about aftermarket stocks) if you will still be able to maintain a good cheek weld.

A folding stock is less of a worry because you could always pad it out till it worked.
I'm mentioning this for those of us who aren't as hip as you and I, CrookedSights

I have a Butler Creek on my 870 (
Shotgun Drills- Basic Tactical Shooting
Folding stocks, especially after market ones, are not optimal... but some times you need a gun to be shorter. I have wrapped the stock in cushion and 550 cord to get a good cheek weld, and have no problem.
My ultra portable 22LR is a Ruger MKII with a Packlite upper. But your folding stock 10/22 plan is something I have considered. Of the folding stocks out there, the Butler Creek is the best.

Currahee might be on to something there.
Instead of thinking that you need a .22 rifle maybe a pistol that performs like a rifle...

A MKII or MKIII is on the list and will probably replace the rifle in my BOB eventually, but I got a helluva deal on two 10/22's so it's just easier on the wallet to spend the 60 to 100 bucks on the stock as opposed to a few hundred on a pistol.

I like the butler creek folding stock because its compact but with an optic on my .22 I basically have my chin resting on the stock. Making some kind of cheek riser or wrap it in para cord is necessary. Once I put it back together I will try and post a picture.
