I've decided on my next handgun purchase. Does anyone have an opinion on which variant to get or what to avoid?

if your gonna go beretta 92series
get the 92a1 or the 96a1 if you want 40 for some reason
but i'd go 9mm on that gun and get the 17rd mag capability, plus you can get the military magazines for the 9mm for real cheap
my only warning on it is make sure you try the trigger on it
if you try it in single action you pretty much have to pull the trigger back until it hits the trigger guard before the hammer drops
(which is why i didn't buy one like 2 weeks ago)
i went with a M&P9, wouldn't hurt to try one of those out too :))

The 92 model is already on my list, but I think I can hold off on another 9mm for now. Thanks for the input.

When I have satisfied my stocks of 308, 12 Gauge, 9mm, 5.56, 7.62x39, .45 ACP
I will step into .40 and the Beretta M96 will be my handgun of choice.

Hello all, RON L here
Just my Opinion, if you do decide on a beretta (Nothing wrong with that, as tey make wonderfull firearms), avoid the open top designs like the 92, 96 and so forth, lots of heardake, as well as bad History with Military M-9 Pistols, again, jusat my Opinion, but indeed one formed by decades of exposure to Beretta, M-9 and open top design pistols!!! Too Cracked frames and cracked slides for my taste! Strange never seen it on the Taurus copy but on CIV Model 92, as well as over 10 M-9 Pistols that we received new and were shot less than 500 rnds each!
