Interesting! I wounder if it would be offered in other AK variance such as the RPK or PSL. Also I wounder how reliable this would be under extrema heats because the tolerances would become tighter under a lot of fire.
-
I want one.
-
I'll take one in the SBR version of it.
-
Under $2,000? How far under $2,000? I'd have felt they were closer to it's value if they had said under a $1,000.
You can get a quality AK for $600 or under. How much is the break apart feature worth?
-
You start fucking with designs and you end up with a kel tec product.
Take that how you so please.
-
Dumb asses, they went that far but fell short of a quick change barrel RPK??????
U.S. Palm = Dumb asses. I can't wait for someone to patent bust them by adding a quick change gas piston to that.
-
To be honest I am not that exited. I simply don't need it. But some one whe plans on bugging out and has caches of mags and ammo, It might be something to consider.

Just caught that, pretty funny.
Did the new Grendal inc. promise not to and then leave a foul taste in your mouth?
-
Am I the only one who thinks this thing is f'in ridiculous?
-
Whats wrong with it?
-
They're making the AK something it wasn't designed for. Maybe I'm just a purest, but I'd want my AK kept as an AK, and maybe I'm totally wrong. Perhaps it's the best thing since the invention of black powder. But from my first look, seems silly. Get a folding stock if you wanna shorten it up.
-
Look at it from a city mans point of view. He will be bugging out, Firearms could be confiscated. He has hidden caches in the woods, and has a group of people bugging out to the same location. In that situation a break down ak would be perfect.
-
You have a point, but you could fit a full sized AK in a PVC pipe cache.
But like I said, you do have a point. Easier to fit one in a pack too I'd guess.

I'm not talking about caching, this gun, but rather having it in a pack.
-
Gotcha.
-
So, you'd rather store your primary in your backpack.....while people are confiscating guns?
Forgive me, I could be wrong but if my shit is getting confiscated there will be a firefight.
Am I the only one that believes if I'm going to die, I'd rather do it standing up?

Thats cool but if I see a bunch of military guys pulling people with guns to the side, Then yes.

I'm with you. But what I meant by having a rifle in a backpack is if you're hiking somewhere and you don't want to get the death stare by anyone you might pass by.
Reaver mate, you know I'll be right along side ya, either with a rifle, or with bites taken out of me as you're eating my flesh for food lol.
-
If you want to hike with a rifle and not get the eye then you need to work on your field craft.
US Palm found a solution to a problem that doesn't exist.
Worse than that they took an AK which is made of standardized parts and made the two most important components mated. Oh and did you notice that where it breaks down is like the highest stress point on the whole damned rifle?
-
yeah........
if your that worried about concealing your ak buy a fucking draco, or a folding stock
even at that, backpacking and rifle really dont fit in the same category

They will just have to put a few thousand rounds through it before I would buy it. Its funny though, how somebody who shoots all day every day like Travis Haley is backing this......maybe he knows something we don't......or maybe he just wants a bigger wallet. I dunno?

I like gadgets and shiny things. lol :))

Hello all, RON L
I would have to see it test it and see long term use Palm does some unique things and this might be a winner but as someone esle said well, what does this do for me that a Folding stock and or a SBR does not? I know AK in it's Present form work, this, well Jury is out yet? New and different is not always new and improved!

DING! DING! DING! DING! DING!
Exactly! Why fix what ain't broke. And if you are worried that much about buggin out with a weapon while they are confiscating ALA Katrina style, you are going about things the wrong way...

idk about that,
so when you are bugging out with your wife and your little kids you think you should really fight marines trying to confiscate that ar your packing?
personally id just keep a concealed pistol and keep moving
