Upon retirement, I got my Glock 22, or should I say a new one. Ms. brat, also retired, has her Glock 19. I tire of having to buy mixed ammo and want to move to only 9mm. Sooo, I went before the highest authority, Ms. brat, and thru her "executive order" have been granted blessing for this.....

Before I order, I "need" to hear from the local experts on the pros/cons of the ported barrel or whether I should just get the stock length. Does the ported barrel really make a difference ? I plan to also get the SS guide rod and ISMI recoil spring. Then start looking for G17 mags.
As hard as it was to acquire executive privilege, I sure as hell don't want to screw the pooch. You can't imagine the hell it would be if I had to own up to returning it. :hiding:

Skip the ports and get the threaded barrel... cause... yeah...
-
I'll second that motion!

I 3rd that. Definitely forget the ports, but the extended barrel is nice. If you dont use(or have) a can just leave the thread protector on the barrel. The extra 3/4"+ definitely is nice. It gets you a little bump in velocity.

The SS guide rod and ISMI spring are a nice touch, particularly that you should change your spring anyway to insure proper operation with 9mm.
There are a couple of other manufacturers that produce great barrels for what you want to do.
Storm Lake : http://www.storm-lake.com/products/barrel#top (http://www.storm-lake.com/products/barrel#top)
KKM:http://www.kkmprecision.com/shopping-cart/?func=order&frompage=cat&cat=G
I personally prefer KKM and use them in a couple of my pistols. Great quality, accuracy, and they last. That said either are a bit more budget wise than you are looking at with Lone Wolf.
For Magazine, 44mag.com has them in stock and usually has very competitive pricing.

Also if you want a little extra capacity look at TTI. Their extensions (+5rds) are great.http://tarantacticalinnovations.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=44_49 (http://tarantacticalinnovations.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=44_49)

I knew someone would steer me right. Pretty unanimous, threaded it is.
CJS, appreciate the links
Thanks guys....

Now you need to buy the "can" too! I do believe that your state has no laws about owning a suppressor like RI state does. When MrsMac and I change residency from RI to PA (When our RI house sells) a can is on my list to buy.

Sure JohnyMac rub it in. Im stuck here in the land of "makes laws with no idea of the subject matter". And judgeing by this last election things in Little Rhody are more likely to get worse than better.
No cans in my future.

All true CJS!

Well, ordered the threaded, thread protector, S/S guide rod, IMI spring, 9mm LCI extractor and spring load bearing. Just sitting here now waiting.... :coffeeNews:
Oh yeah, realized that I've been neglecting my G/22, so I'm gonna get me a brand new solvent trap so I can take better care of it.......
