I ran across this article (http://www.glennbeck.com/2015/12/01/ask-yourself-these-four-questions-to-reveal-your-level-of-preparedness/) and thought I would share.
My level is 4+. Almost a level 5.
What is your level? If low what are you doing to get to the next level? Let's all try to learn from our forum members so do not hold back.

Id have to say 3.75. I have about got my wife to decide prepping is a good thing. Even bought her a sewing machine to start reviving those old skills. She did alot way back really enjoyed it. That hobby is getting out of her bones and into her brain again. Yes its electric power but she still has and loves her granny's treadle machine that works great.
And of course, sewing means material. Sewing means anytime Jo Anns has something on sale she can use a few yards. Seems primarily that is excitment about sewing and not so much prepping but she is buying more than she can keep up with. Squeezes pennies but worthwhile.

I'd say that I'm at a level 2, though I range between a 1-3 on various subjects. My wife isn't nearly as serious about preparation as I am, and I haven't made lots of extra money in a looong time. I eagerly anticipate increasing my preps within a year or so. I'll be gainfully employed then.

Averaged out, I am a 4 = Heavy on guns-ammo, gear, food, most meds, water is close, multi year supply of white gas/kerosene is close. I am weak on garden, wife's MS meds, secondary location.
I would be in bad shape if my house would be destroyed, unlivable, or if subjected to forced relocation without notice that I could not fight.
We are looking for the right secondary property, just haven't found it yet. Will never get any surplus MS meds for my wife, but we have talked about that.

Have some in all catagories but I need a generator for my well and septic system. Propane heat, cooking and defense weapons good to go. Little short on toilet paper but I see Food Lion hes a sale on them. Meds OK for two months. My step son, his nurse wife and nurse daughter said when SHTF they're coming here. Great because he has much more than I have and will bring it with them. He short on weapons, he's from the police state of NJ.

"Copy of the Bible, the U.S. Constitution, the Federalist Papers, Atlas Shrugged and books by Glenn Beck."
Who reads Atlas shrugged and doesn't throw out their Constitution and stop following the statist Glenn Beck?

Maybe it's encouraging absorbing different points of view? You don't have to agree with all of them to find they contribute something to the conversation...though I personally don't pay attention to Beck.

From a feelings rather than logical standpoint I suppose it's possible. "I shall apply a premise whenever it fits my beliefs and reject it when it doesn't. I am an individual except for when I am a statist".

2.5 to 3.5
i need to work out more. We're expanding the garden again.

LOL! No, I meant that understanding the principles of each and deciding for yourself why they don't work is important.

I am stoked to see so many forum members at a 3 or better.

as the principles go... Mr. Beck has a product to sell. I don't own any of his books :) (I do own all the others)
you have a sizeable group of type-a people here. You expect them not to measure and compare? :trolling: :lmfao:

I'm at level 2 with some level 3 stuff, living in an apartment seriously compromises how much stuff you can store at home.

I had a conversation with a friend yesterday about prepping. He is 50 years old, and he and his wife are valued at over $500,000, possibly nearing $1,000,000, if you include their stocks. That's insanely prepared, financially. I told him if he were to take one drop out of that proverbial bucket, like $10,000 or $20,000, he could be more prepared in ALL the basics (food, water, security, self-sufficiency, etc.) than 90% of Americans. He told me that even $10,000 could mean he would be eating cat food when he was old, or not getting to see a doctor or buy medications.
Kinda makes me, a person who wants to prep with the basics for everything (not just finances), irritated. I could do so much with $10,000.
