No I wasn't ready for listening to CREED today. Shit surprized me more than the Boston bombings, which is really kinda sad.

No one is ever really ready, but some are more mentally prepared than others. I got this one friend, he can't even go 90 minutes without eating. He's phucked. Domesticated mindset can kill. People should go back to fasting for training purposes or religious/prayer reasons. When my father was really sick I fasted and prayed for 3 days. Fat decadent bastards these days couldn't be on a life boat for 2 hours without eating a fellow crew member. I issue a challenge to anyone on straightprep. Fast for 3 days and continue to live/work as normal. If you can pull it off that will help prepare you for what is coming. If you can't, well...

I do not want to be an alarmist BUT I feel something is coming sooner than later. There is just way to much crap happening; all at once of late, vs. the death by 1,000 cuts we know from earlier years.

I don't understand religious people.

It's just fasting man. There are a lot of physical and mental results in support of it. Not just for the spirit. And it doesn't have to be merely food. You can go on a fast from tv, internet, people, pretty much whatever. Think of it like detoxing.

Oh, See I do that as well. By, my fast are more in thought.
I'll go out and have a fire, indulge in a few more beers and let mother earth speak with me.

Ah, I hear ya. My grandfather did that a lot. Of course he was talking to God, but similar principle. I picked up a lot of my theology from that man. Which is ironic because he was about the least "religious" man I knew. He had a relationship with God. No middle man pastor or church. Always one on one.
That's more meditation or prayer though. A better example of fasting would be say Youtube for me. I've had numerous apologetics debates with atheist, agnostics, and even "christians." I love it at times, but if I do it to often I get burnt out. So I take a fast from it. Maybe a month or two :-\ Then when I come back I feel refreshed and able to tackle more false prophet baby christians who keep misleading people for donations and attention. Another example would be the food thing. I may take a day or two off from eating and stick to just tea or kombucha. Or maybe stick with just raw foods and avoid meats. A lot of times if I'm feeling shitty, fatigued, or my back is in a lot of pain cutting the supply and letting my body reboot does me a world of good. I need to it this week in fact. A bonus to the food thing is I can literally go a good 48 hours without food and keep up a pretty good rate of work. My wife on the other hand gets fatigued without food after about 8 hours and she's slim and work outs a lot. Doesn't fast often though ;)

Right on RvR.
Fasting can be a great way to re-boot your body from all the crap we put into it. Of course, you have to be smart about it, and do some planning beforehand.

Anything i should know as far as health risks from not eating? Im pretty certain ill be light headed a woozy by day two. Im considering doing this though.
-
You might get light headed due to lowered blood sugar but aside from that there are some really interesting benefits to fasting.

Even though WebMD is the hypochondriacs wet dream, here's a short article on fasting that should give you somethings to consider before fasting. If your doing it for the first time, you still need water and some kind of light food stuffs. Otherwise, you'll be passing out and falling all over the place and possibly hurting yourself.

When it came to my reenlistment I guess I fasted...or prayed. What ever for like 36 hours.
God told me I should not, and I'm currently on the correct path. Hopefully I'm right, god wouldn't lie right.
-
No way am I ready! I still haven't gotten into pique physical shape and acquired the training I want, let alone worked out all the potential consequences of participating in a civil war and its impact upon my relationship with God. Then there's the issue of networking...
