Well done on both accounts, TG and Walker! [URL=http://www.smileyvault.co

Walker, I think you make a lot of sense there. However, while making sense to you and I, I'm not sure it would have the same affect on the liberal side. Liberals pretend to "care" about the little guy, the downtrodden, the needy. They may care some, but not enough to listen to logic. These people are merely a tool for them to use for their agenda. The more cunning liberals anyway, the less informed libs that "care" only think the way their favorite movie star thinks. They think their efforts make a difference. They're getting their marching orders from the more cunning ones, with the agenda. I think, appealing to their hearts, wouldn't make a difference. What trumps their "caring", or the pretending to, is the down to the core, ME, ME, ME drive that makes them tick. Example, have you ever seen the video of the conservative kid on campus that was asking other kids, if they would be willing to share their GPA's with other kids that didn't make the good grades that they did? All of these, La,La,La,I'm gonna save the world and all the whales and planet Earth types suddenly focused like a laser at the matter at hand. WHAT? SHARE MY GPA? NO WAY, I WORKED TOO HARD FOR MY GRADES. WHY WOULD I SHARE MY GPA? IT'S NOT MY FAULT, THEY DIDN'T STUDY, OR  PUT IN THE WORK I DID! And why would so many people, all give up the lessons they learned through life? Don't lie, don't steal, don't cheat, are all things we've been raised with. Yet why would so many in the country, forget all that, and re-elect this evil bastard back into office. ME, ME, ME! He has done nothing to fix the economy, he's made it worse. He lies to us on pretty much,a daily basis. He never is forced to explain his actions. He does whatever he wants to, and yet, all of these people, let it ride. They look the other way. Why? Against all that we have been raised to act like, it's all Me, Me Me,. We're lost the right from wrong mentality and slid right into Me, Me, Me. In the liberal minds, Me, Me, Me, trumps right from wrong, bad or good, and weak or strong. Just my thoughts.

Now we must figure out how to make the 2nd amendment appeal to a wider audience of our current culture

It's already happening. One word: Call of Duty

Walker, you're exactly right. We need to get the message out to wider audience. It may take a combination of tactics. I think that shaking our fist, may also be needed. It's all the left understands. Sitting back quietly hasn't helped. I think our side feels backed into a corner. When we complain, it's peacefully, when they complain, it's by overturning cars and setting fires. Not to pit urban against rural. But there are differences, and urban is mostly liberal leaning, while rural is mostly conservative leaning. I think that conditioning is in order. One way may be open carry. I open carry everywhere , on my time. I live in a rural community where nobody bats an eye when I open carry. I'm polite, friendly, and law abiding. In the urban areas, their exposure to guns is hearing shots ring out in the middle of the night, followed by sirens. Or hearing their neighbor's child has been killed in a cross fire by gang members. Rural people's exposure to guns, is the 1st day of deer season, skeet shooting, and  turkey shoots. All of which, promote comradery, safety, and responsibility. What if all gun owners open carried for a week? Everybody would see that guns aren't the monsters people make them out to be, and their owners are everyday law abiding citizens. What if they all open carried for a month? people would see guns in a whole new light. It's all about conditioning. Eric Holder said that we need to brainwash the youth into looking at guns in a new way. I say, we need to "condition" people to a different way of looking at guns. Maybe we should have a national day of open carry. Better yet, "National Week of Open Carry". Or " Open Carry Across America"

It is amazing how many of my Liberal friends who ARE for the Second amendment they are just not for the ugly black rifle.

With that said, they seem to understand why a AR 15 when explained in the correct context. It seems when My wife explains to them that the only rifle she can handle is a AR 15 due to lack of recoil. Due to the fact she can shorten her stock. And the ability to load a 30 round mag even if she can only load 15-18 rounds till her arthritic hands give out.

Once you bring it down to ground or a human level more people are accepting.

Howdy walker! Just to make sure we are on the same page, when I previously wrote about "shaking our fist", I meant so, by means of peaceful demonstrations. I wasn't talking about any form of violence. I hope it would never come to that. If it did, I hope that is way down the road. Have a good one!

Hey hj...How about a quick report on your trip this past Saturday.

Hey JM! I previously wrote a little about it, but will be glad to share some more. I called my cousin, to see if he had heard about it. He hadn't, but was very interested. He told me to get back to him on Friday, as he is a self employed gen. contractor, and had to see if he had any things that were going to tie him up for Saturday. I did call back, and as luck would have it, he was free Saturday and eager to go. We each had about 1 1/2 hrs. to drive, to meet at the old family farm. I took him one of those 1 dollar aluminum water bottle stoves, a bottle of the gasoline anti-freeze fuel to use in it, and an extra aluminum bottle to make another one, if he wants to. I showed him how it worked. He thought that was pretty cool. I told him about this site, and another site," open carry.org" that I visit, and told him to check them out. Hopefully, he does, he would fit right in. Anyway, we hit the road for what now I put at, was to be about a 4, or 4 1/2 hr. trip. We left a little after 7, I think, and got there about 11:20 or so. I knew Pa. has some beautiful scenery, it is a pretty state. But the scenery down that way ranks right up there with scenery from anywhere else in the state. I don't think he got any pics. We b.s.'d all the way, discussing gun laws, government, etc., even a little family stuff. We arrived at the rally. Put some quarters in the parking meter. One quarter for ten min., can you imagine? LOL! I'm used to like a quarter for an hour, near where I live. I say near, cause where I live, we don't have any of them gadgets. I had 9 quarters on me, we were good for 1 1/2 hrs. Hey cuz, I'll feed the meter, you buy lunch. LOL! Grabbed us a coffee down the street, and headed about a block (city, that is) to the capitol building. It was a really nice looking building. kinda resembled the capitol building in D.C. We heard about 4 or 5 people speak. Read a lot of good signs. It was a good atmosphere. The weather was great, sunshine, not a bad temp. (45 or 50) It was the nicest day, in the middle of 3 or 4 crappy days before and after that day. God must like the 2nd Amendment. There was also a few babes with AR-15's. (my kind of women). I think it lasted about 1 1/2 hrs. We all signed a petition to send to our powers that be, and were on our way. A long day, but definitely worth it! I later checked some things on the computer, and caught a couple of glimpses of my cousin and I on a few various news clips. I found a still pic. that shows the backs of us, that I will try to attach. I'm the one with the balding spot on the back of my head. LOL! I always forget about it, until I see pics like these. Damn It! If I can figure out how to post the pic, we're in the lower right. My cousin has the orange hat, I had the black coat. If you look close, my Sig was showing on my right hip. The best I can do (limited computer skills) is link to site, and you will need to click on bottom pic, out of the four.

I'll post other pics when my daughter gets them from my cousin and helps me. LOL!

Here is a response I had to a letter sent last week. Sent the original before the President started tossing around EO.
Quote
Dear Xxxxxxxxx,

Thank you for taking the time to contact me regarding your thoughts on federal gun control measures in light of the recent tragedy in Connecticut.

A terrible and incomprehensible act of violence took place at Sandy Hook Elementary School. We are all deeply impacted by the horror of little children and brave adults being murdered. There are many serious issues that will need to be discussed and considered in the weeks and months to come. But right now, our primary concern should be for the families and the community of Newtown.

At moments like this, America comes together to mourn and support one another. We will do so again in the coming days, and then search for answers on how to prevent such tragedies in the future

As your Senator, I believe it is my primary responsibility to uphold the Constitution and the Second Amendment is no exception.  I will continue to strongly support our Second Amendment rights.  One of the bills I have chosen to cosponsor regarding the Second Amendment is S. 570 introduced by Senator Jon Tester (D-MT) on March 14, 2011.  This bill would prohibit the Department of Justice from tracking and cataloguing the purchases of multiple rifles and shotguns.

Thank you again for taking the time to share your thoughts.  It is important for me to hear the views and concerns of the people I serve. Please feel free to contact me in the future if I can further assist you or your family.  It is an honor representing you and the good people of Wisconsin in the U.S. Senate.

Sincerely,

Ron Johnson
United States Senator

When I hear these politicians discuss the issues at hand, mental illness, cultural desensitization, gun laws, etc. All I hear, (mostly because it is what they are saying) is: We Need to look at all the issues. GUNS ARE EVIL We need to study problems with mental health. GUNS ARE EVIL Joe Biden is looking at recommendations by all involved. GUNS ARE EVIL We are going to look at all of the problems with much consideration. GUNS ARE EVIL They're really not considering anything, unless it's against guns. I don't know who they think they are fooling. If they are so concerned with bringing these gun criminals to justice, why haven't they tried the Fort Hood guy yet? He's a Muslim, that's why. They don't want to upset the Muslims.
