  This thing is a beast and I really like mine!  And for around $45 bucks, its hard to say no! Only downside is the damn bloody nylon sheath that they send with their tomahawks, though I have seen some kydex ones available on ebay (but for a price).

Still, after seeing a bit what it can do with chopping wood and throwing it at some trees with friends (LOL long story) I am happy with it. 

Anyone else have a fav hawk?

I saw this really good hawk the otherday, it doesn't chop wood worth a fuck but what hawk does?

This thing is a great melee weapon all the way out to 800m if you know how.

My Minute Man rig carries a hawk. I only carry it for bush craft not as a weapon although it could be used as such I guess. Mine looks like the Long hunter (But isn't as the price is too steep for me) http://www.2hawks.net/AHAWKS.html I bought min for around $50-.

I like these because of the square head which is great for pounding in stakes.

I never considered a tomahawk, but I bet it would be a great fieldcraft tool.  I have an SOG machete on my rig instead.

Too much weight to use ratio for me.
I'll stick to my KA-Bar for combat as well as field craft. Don't be fooled a true KA-Bar is more of a chopping tool than a cutting tool anyway.

I keep a hatchet and a machete in my B.O.B. both mandatory in my neck of the woods. But I wouldn't take them into a fight, too bulky and too heavy, a good fixed blade fits the bill perfectly. For the weight of a hawk I'd rather carry extra mags and forgo the need to resort to any viking fantasies I may have. Most of the hawks I've seen are clearly tacticool ninja bullshit. I'm a big fan of RMJ stuff. Yeah their prices are up there, but they produce some damn fine equipment. Do think a such an axe certainly has a place in a bug-out-bag or go-bag, provided it is light enough.

I'm with Reaver on this one. I'd take my KABAR over a tomahawk any day of the week. It's sharp, strong, and well balanced. The tomahawk, IMHO, is for game boys who played to much Medal of Honor or Call of Duty or keep watching Mel Gibson in "Patriot." Though if you do plan to buy a tomahawk don't forget to buy some red face paint, feathers, and a pair of moccasins. I hear when you put them altogether the Great Apache spirit will help you fight off the evil white man. Maybe that's why the indians were able to drive whitey back from the plains......... I recently bought a Gurkha Khukuri that does the job of hatchet and machette. You can buy amazing Khukuris hand forged in Nepal for less than $100.
