good day night whatever from your AO sorry it has been awhile been busy with life....too my point, Drone tech...I know what you are
thinking o ok we have gone over ADA type stuff but the question i am asking is using drones for our own personal surveillance...such
as an over-watch when planning ops in your AO you know a live map recon with out the map recon. If electronic chips are not fragged
then this type of tech can be used in your
advantage for recon, aerial over-watch, and security. what are ya'lls thoughts here is a link to a civilian drone and im not saying this
particular model is the end all be all but kind of an idea.

Welcome back SF. I think drones could provide an excellent source of intel and recon ability. I like their ability to stream live view of what they can see and controlled by something as small as a smart phone.

Hey SF. This is exactly what I have been looking for!
Most drones like that for the average citizen is only good out to a hundred yards or so and flight time is more than 10 minutes.
Does anybody know of one or two drones that are good out to lets say 1-2 miles and will fly for 1 hr or so?
-
So anybody out there that knows of a drone that will function out to two miles and will fly for an hour or more?

Looks great Fox but I hope the $1,899- price is Hong Kong dollars. ;)
I will have to take some more time to check out. Thanks

JM, I think your requirements might be pushing the current class of consumer drones, while still at a reasonable price ($300 or so). That is not to say that something like what Swampfox posted might be a good starter drone to get into, and learn with. Depending on how techie you are, you might be able to extend the range of it.
-
exactly what crudos stated. I have experience flying RC aircraft i mostly fly fix wing and you want to start out small/easy to learn how this system operates. also you can build on the 300 dollar system with software/hard wear upgrades. plus this is also not the only system out there there are tones of other areal platforms that can to the same job cheaper and in my opinion better with the right equipment.

Just checking out their web site. Pretty neat. EBAY has them for 417.00 (without GOPRO)

Does anyone know how high a drone has to be before you can't see it anymore? Lets us the specs of the drone model just above, the DJI Phantom.
