A course in OPSEC and COMSEC

Over my head but you guys might like it.

Quote
Over breakfast on Sunday morning, I read an article about the hackers allegedly behind the D.C. security camera attack.

On the eve of President Trump's inauguration in January 2017, foreign hackers successfully used something called "ransomware" to encrypt the D.C. Police Department computer network responsible for running security cameras that lined the city.

At the time, it was a BIG DEAL and there was a lot of speculation that the computer malware might have something to do with an attack during the inauguration.

The D.C. Police and Secret Service frantically tried to re-establish the computers and security cameras as the hackers sent an email requesting $60,800 in Bitcoin to decrypt those computers.

Do you know how those hackers were caught?

Because the email address they used to send the ransom email was the same that they later used to ORDER A PIZZA.

NSA undoubtedly made short work of that transaction, and authorities quickly stormed an apartment in Romania to make the arrests.

I thought to myself, "How incredibly dumb. There's zero OPSEC there."

"OPSEC" is an abbreviation of Operations Security. It's become a buzz word in the prepper community. Judging by the Facebook posts I read about OPSEC, there's a lot of misinformation out there.

OPSEC is a set of activities employed to protect critical information. There's a variety of methods used to hide or obscure indicators, and I want to make sure that preppers understand these methods and tools.

It's the major reason why I'm bringing back my OPSEC + Communications Security (COMSEC) course.

Starting in December, I'm hitting the road again to teach the two-day Tactical Intelligence Course, and at some locations, I'll be teaching a third day of OPSEC and COMSEC -- valuable knowledge and skills for preppers.

Here's a link to my current training schedule.

If your area isn't already on my training schedule and you want to organize a class for your area, just reply to this email. Provide some dates and a location and if there's enough demand, then I'll schedule a course and put it up on the training calendar.

I think you need to move your [ Quote ] at the end of the post to get the last bit of that URL where it needs to be to work.

If you need a second magazine, its time to call in air support.

God created Man, Col. Sam Colt made him equal, John Moses Browning turned equality to perfection, Gaston Glock turned perfection into plastic fantastic junk.
