I see a potential momentum vs energy argument brewing.

I'm willing to cut the writer some slack here considering the date this was wrote. The fellow pulling, excuse me squeezing the trigger in all probability paused at the end of an exhale and considering the range no doubt fired between heartbeats.

i hope so. lol... i wonder how many shots it actually took him to hit the target though. i think the writer just told the story of the final shot after so many misses. the sights were so high the guy couldnt even get a cheek weld. couple that with a 7lb trigger pull and a sketchy sand bag rest and this dosent look like a one shot deal by any means.

I knew it, as soon as I found it. You guys would love it.

Hello all
RON L here
Hmm, 45/70, Yea, I like the round for big game, but at that kind of range isn't it more like Lobbing Mortar rounds in???? I know old timers used to shoot that sort of range and aim over the moon to hit it? Just my thoughts? Wondering how Pratical that set up is, at all?

Yeah i agree Ron. good big game round but a precision long range rifle it aint. anyone whos shooting iron sights at 2500 yards is just pissing into the wind and hoping for the best, Caliber of the rifle aside.

I do so agree, I have seen a Lot of shots at game at near 650 yards go astray,. 2500, well that out of my Concept?? LOL
