I know this had to come from someone on here.... wish I'd thought of it.

Actually, this philosophy has truly helped me recently.  I've been watching "Orange Is the New Black" and I keep thinking "don't lose your temper - you do *not* want to go to prison!"

I've learned through experience that when it comes to social relations whether at work, family or in public. Reaching this :pissed: point always left me in a weaker position then I was before.
Because if I were dealing with someone clever, that response was likely intentionally provoked by him/her and I just acknowledged that influence he/she had over me. If you do it enough times to an idiot they'll catch on as well.
This also prevents me from giving credit to the police for my sociable behavior.
