My wife told me a story when she had a new born a one year old and a two year old her husband left her. In the sixties it was shunned upon for a woman to be separated. That Christmas hot dogs was all she could afford for her dinner. At 78 years old she still feels embarrasst about it.

She was able to feed her children and that's something to be proud of, not embarrassed
