That's why God invented live traps and car exhaust.  Just catch the darling little squirrel in a live trap, put the entire trap in a trash bag and rubber band the end of that bitch to your tailpipe.  He'll get sleepy, then go into the cutest little squirrel coma where the last thing through his furry little brain is a feast of nuts.  Too many nuts, not enough time... fat happy squirrel... the universe is dark and cold... but fat happy squirrel is warm... and hello pizza hut dumpster.  Couldn't we all be so lucky...

I don't typically think of them as food... if you put all the squirrels in NM in the stew pot it wouldn't amount to a quick meal for a small town. I doubt it would feed the highschool class of a small town.

I suppose it'd work with low powered air rifles like spoiled children have these days, but in that case you might as well just buy a little Ruger .22 (less cheap plastic shit to break).  I can tell you that I wasted a lot of hours as a kid stalking the squirrels that lived in the woodpile behind the house, and I was lucky if my Daisy even made 'em limp a little.

a squirrel pole is a pole you set kinda leaning up against a tree that you have little wire nooses all over it, squirrels being naturally lazy will run right up it with no notice to the nooses thinking its branches, anyways they get caught fall off the pole hang themselves and you got an entire pole full of fresh squirrels ready to be skinned and ate

set up a shit load of them and feed your family until the area runs out of the dumb bastards
