Alot people think that rather than raiding CostCo, one should target the distribution center that supplies all the chain stores in the region.
I worked at a distribution center for IHOP, temporarily during the worst of the economic "recession", and that place had the just in time delivery symptoms bad. We supplied every IHOP in California, parts of southern Oregon, at least some stores as far as central Arizona, Las Vegas and possibly up to Reno. There was not enough supplies to completely stock up to 10 restaurants. 2/3s of product were in some type of freezer or refrigerator. We'd get a list of what each store needed, a bag of flour and 2 bags pancake mix etc., and load the pallet. By the beginning of morning the trucks were loaded and the warehouse would be empty of stuff, ready to receive new product from delivery trucks during the day while their own trucks we headed to the restaurants.
Oh and it was highly physically demanding work w high employee turn over that paid minimum wage. It was well known employment spot for recently released convicts/parolees/illegals that needed work to show their handlers they were good boys. Imagine yrs of high turnover of employees w criminal history. That place will be wiped clean in the 1st hr. ...And the warehouse neighbored East LA soo....
Stock up boys! Today's hard times are the good ole times.
