It's really simple to drive a shallow well system. When I lived in the police state of New Jersey I installed one to water my gardens so I wouldn't raise the cost of my city water bill. My well was approximately twenty two feet deep. Well pipe and couplings are special in that they are  much thicker to withstand the pounding of drilling. I used a well point four lengths of 2" well pipe which comes in five foot lengths, four couplings and an end cap that is made to hit with a sledge hammer. I dug a two foot hole to start the drilling and pounded on the end cap making sure the pipe was vertical. When the drilling was finished I connected an electric pump and let it run to clear out any loose dirt.
I was really lucky that year because we had a drought and had water restrictions.

In principle, no less than in practice, socialism is the ideology of thieves and tyrants.
