Water jugs
«

Well my 5 gallon stackable water jugs came in. I rinsed them out then disinfected them with bleach and rinsed again. Just have to fill them. We have a well with high nitrates in our water so we already have a very good and expensive filtering system. We'll be bugging-in so I feel that is all the water I will need until I get a generator running or a hand pump working. A little at a time, starting to stock up on food and meds.
I checked the buckets that our cat litter came in and guess what? They're food grade. That saves a few bucks.

Hi JMac
Its a 65 foot well with a 6" caseing. No I haven't taken the cap off but I have been reading on how to install a hand pump or a lift bucket.

Hey Jojo, go out to your well and pull the sanitary seal (cap) and see what she says. You might talk yourself into a pitcher pump if the water is less than 23' away.
You can get them cheap at most of the Chinese tool places and there is a wealth of info on how to clean them up nicely.

Oh, post up some photos of those 'stackable' 5 gallon cans! I'd be interested to see them.

Jojo, those are super cool! Thanks for sharing man!
Btw, their half gallon a day recommendation leave a little to be desired.. I'd go 3 gallons a day minimum for drinking and washing. Maybe up to 5 gallons a day if you are working in the heat.
