TY lead this post is so great. I had an epic fail this year in my garden this year. Ive been reading books and searching for why it hapend. ANd i think you just showed me how to prevent it. The guy is right i had a sick apple tree in my front yard that produced some fairly sour apples. Well three years ago my wife laid down a large ring of woodchip mulch cuz i didnt want to cut the apple down. and she wanted it to be a little mor pleasing to the eye. This year we had over 3 bushels of beutiful sweet apples off that sickly tree and the pies we made were amazing. After watching this video I think i have a whole new approach to my garden. This is why i come to this site. Most times i dont even ask the question. But someone has an answer for me anyway.
