I have some Mountain House MRE's and they're the best tasting one's I've tried so far. However, those things are on my LAST RESORT list. I do keep one or two in each bugout bag but the rest are being held in reserve. After the Canned Foods, Dried Beans, Rice, and other non perishables are gone, then and only then will I eat the "Constipation Nation" MRE's. Even when you put the exact right amount of water in there, they still suck water out of your body and lock you up tight. I'm not slamming them. They are good tasting, healthy for you, and will keep you alive but you better keep a laxative handy. Even the Military MRE's have a mild laxative included with each meal.

Um, these are freeze dried pouches, not MRE's.
Add hot water, stir, close pouch, let sit for 4 minutes, open pouch and stir again, close pouch, wait a few minutes, then eat.
Can use cold water, just takes longer to rehydrate.
They do contain a lot of salt, so drink plenty of water, exercise regularly to sweat to get rid of the salt.
