We loaded up on a bunch of non-perishable stuff when we started prepping. That stuff, especially the canned goods, is getting past the "Best By Date". My mindset has shifted to trading the older supplies when people need something to eat. Lately, I have started buying replacement canned goods using an eat one, buy two method. I started doing this about a month ago. I ate a can of Corned Beef Hash and when I went to the store, I bought 2 cans to replace the one can. Then I ate another can of Corned Beef Hash and went to replace that one and I bought two again. I'm pretty sure that I'm going to get tired of eating Brown Rice, Dinty Moore Beef Stew, Hormel Chili with Beans, Corned beef Hash, Campbells soups, but with the prices rising so fast, I just feel compelled to start restocking by using my new method. It wasn't very long ago that a can of Corned beef hash was about $1. As best I recall, that stuff is about $3 a can now. Who knows what it will cost in about 6 months. Don't get me started on Toilet Paper and Paper Towels. Hell, I've got it stacked floor to ceiling in the kitchen and even more Toilet Paper stored in the attic. This Shit is starting to get real and I don't plan to starve to death. I plan to die of old age. My two children are aware of Prepping but they are just dabbling in it. Hmmm..... A bit of Normalcy Bias there I think. Well, If the wife and I croak, they should be all set to handle what's coming if they have the brains to not sell off our supplies.
