@grizz For the eggs, we scramble them up and freeze dry them raw.   .   .   .    Eggs I don't worry about as I eat these raw anyway

Thats just gross sounding and reading.  After the first time I always made sure to miss that scene in Rocky.

I'm quivering and shivering typing about this.

Ha! That's funny. I don't eat them raw as in a bowl full or anything. I use them in recipes that call for raw eggs, or sometimes raw egg whites. I think the highest ratio of raw eggs to other ingredients is probably in egg nog. And I only make that around Christmas. The rest is infrequent. Just saying, I know where my eggs come from so I'm not concerned about them being tainted.

LOL, after that scene on Rocky I got home and had to try it. It wasn't bad but not something I do regularly even though I LOVE eggs cooked in any and every configuration

I agree.  Cooked eggs I can do always.  But you worry me about the Rocky eggs not being bad.  Remind me not to drink a glass of milk at your house.

Mine came in about a month ago absolutely love it. The labor involved in canning, can't leave with the pressure cookers going etc. I did a big batch of heavy cream to make butter when needed just waiting to see if it goes rancid as it is still kind of sticky after initial final dry so we ran an additional 6 or so hours and decided that's just how it is due to fat. If you have any experience with it let me know. Also I'm located in NC as well marshville.

I don't know about Freeze Drying Butter but I grew up on a farm and we ran the cows milk through a separator to get the cream. I do remember that when we made butter, we churned it until it became lumpy buttermilk. Then we Strained it through a cheesecloth to catch the butter. Then added a tiny bit of salt and made butter patties about 6 inches in diameter. We kept it in the refrigerator and it lasted a pretty good while. I don't ever remember having to throw any of it away.
