Gotta a couple of dormant raised beds now. Already thinking about next season. I think I want to put out six or eight Elderberry bushes.
Anyone growing these or have them ? I remember them on my grandparents farm, makes GREAT wine. But I'm also interested from the prepper angle as far as making syrup. Great for flu season.

As you already know brat, Elderberry has a lot of medicinal purposes similar to Blueberry's. I good friend makes Blueberry wine.
He also makes: Peach, apple, pear, grape...wine.
I wonder how Elderberry would do at our Latitude.

My Mom is growing a couple of elderberries, awful to pick.. they made wine because the harvest was lousy. The syrup angle is an interesting one. Nothing wrong with having something flavorful and sweet around in hard times!
