Xiegu G90 Transceiver

   It may be a firmware issue, to be corrected in a future firmware update.  Try contacting Xiegu support, and see if they have any suggestions.  I see you've already posted the issue on the Xiegu forums, hopefully someone there can help you out.

I had much better luck with Radioddity, they emailed me back quickly and answered my question. They have direct contact with Xiegu, and unlike most other radio retailers, they speak Chinese. I'd try an email to them, they might be able to point you in the right direction or make contact with Xiegu for you.

I received a response overnight from Xeigu.

Bottom-line, I have a new version of the radio. There will be a firmware update coming out in several weeks updating everyone else's radio.

The new version has the user press the MFK (Multi Function Knob) then press F-L or F-H button, then adjust the bandwidth up or down using the MFK knob.

I also asked why my radio sends using FLdigi in U-D mode but not USB. This too is a new addition. It eliminates the need to change the "Line in/Mic" setting. That will be in the firmware update too.

I had similar issues with my 6100, couldn't figure out why I couldn't do certain things, turns out the new firmware eliminated the need for those steps. Although the latest firmware for mine puts two useless audio meters right on the waterfall/spectrum, and can't be turned off. So I just run the previous version. Glad you figured out the issues, very frustrating with a new radio that doesn't behave.

Johny, it's great that Xiegu responded to your inquiry.  It would have been nice if they included a data sheet outlining the changes in the firmware.  It makes you wonder if there are other changes that you may not be aware of.  In any case, it's great the issue has been resolved, especially after the out of box failure of the original radio.

Amen Jackalope. 

I know several people that purposely never update their G90 with newly released firmware. Just between you, I, and the lamp post, I will not update either as tensions rise between the Chicoms and Washington.
