I've been sharing my reports recently through FLMsg. Why? To illustrate its usefulness and to try and send the information quicker to keep the net moving. However, last night NCS indicated they did not receive it. So I want to share a bit about the usage of FLMsg.
Settings:First things first, you need to make sure your settings are correct so the FLMsg can communicate with FLDigi.

MFSK is a slightly faster mode and AmRRON typically uses it for data transfer when sending traffic using FLMsg and/or FLAmp. In this instance, it's my responsibility as the sender and the person doing the mode change to let others know, which is accomplished through the text and the TxID that gets sent before my message goes out. If you have your
settings correct, and
RxID turned
on, the mode change should be automatically handled for you. You should see the operating mode change from cont 4-250 to mfsk-32 in the bottom left of your FLDigi screen. Once I am done, I will change the mode back to cont 4-250 for the next person. Again, this should be transparent to you if everything is set up correctly.
Reception of message:If the mode change worked, you should be able to view the message that gets sent in two ways.
1. In the normal rx pane of FLDigi. Note this isn't usually the best way for viewing as carriage returns show up as /n.
2. In FLMsg, the message doesn't just open right up after reception. You need to go to utilities, received messages. Another box will pop up and you can click view. That will open said message in FLMsg.
3. Messages received through FLMsg are automatically stored on your PC, as long as there are no checksum errors. Typically, they get stored here C:\Users\<User name>\NBEMS.files\ICS\messages
MiscIdeally, if everyone has everything set up right and the shotgun approach is used, it should take no more than 1 to 2 minutes per sender to get your report out. Checkins --> mode change mfsk32 --> shotgun report sending --> mode change to cont 4/250 --> net closure.
