In an effort to encourage and enhance communications between Mutual Assistance Groups in the SE, there's a Monday evening net at 21:00 local CT (22:00 ET). The frequency is 3.852 MHz or higher until we have a clear frequency. `So, if you're active in a MAG, or even if you're not, check it out!

Thank you Jackalope for the invite.

We're at 3.863MHz due to QRM

Crap! I would have participated if I had known about it and wasn't Putting a 5 element 220 Mhz Yagi together. What? Was I able to get the Yagi together? Of course I was. This time, I followed the instructions exactly like they said and only screwed up once. WOW! Did you know that using the instruction sheet actually works? Up until now, I thought instruction sheets were for idiots to use.

My wife taught me a long time ago that where is says Directions it means do this and it is not really Corrections as how to fix what you wrong because you knew how to do it but did it wrong anyway.

Jackalope, I was is a MAG Zoom mtg during the SE net. Will there be another one? Please keep UP posted.

Yup, we plan on continuing to meet on Monday evenings at 21:00 CT (22:00 ET). We plan on starting on 3.863 MHz next week, and we'll drift up frequency, if necessary.
-
Cool. Thx

On freq a bit early. Some splatter from the QSO on 3.850. I will hang on 3.852.
-
We'll be on 3.863+ MHz due to QRM, that seems to be working better for us.
-
Thank you.
I know someone is there but I only hear bits and pieces. I will hang for a bit to see if propagation improves.
-
did you settle on 3.863 or are you farther north. Strong signal on 3.865. folks with southern accents.
-
does your group have a handle like ERIN?
-
We stayed on 3.863. Nope, we just call it the Southeast Mutual Assistance Group Roundtable (SMAGR, lol). It was just a couple of us tonight. I'll be on tomorrow night (Tuesday) same bat time, same bat frequency, at least that's the plan. Folks are getting nervous about gas prices.

Anyone aware of any MAGS networking in the "desert" SW?

Cool beans Brother.
The Monday Bible Studies class last night was canceled so I hit a local HF net at 1900 hrs. local. Then refired up the 590s at a few minutes before 2200 hrs. local. There was a QSO at 3.860 and another one on 3.865. What I was hearing on 3.863 was just splatter from 3.865. The 3.865 NCS was in SW Tenn. and he was picking up folks from TX, OK, AR, MO, KY, and a few others which were hard to hear. Their big topic was, drum roll please.......Show content

LOL.
Since this whole Ukraine-Russian drama began, I have never heard so much politics on the airwaves as I have over the past seven days. Very anti-Biden and U.S.A. policy in general.
I will hold off commenting on U.S.A. policy on this Board.

Felix, check out AmRRON (https://amrron.com/).

I've been tempted to fire up the HF rig and listen for radio traffic in the Ukraine but I have a radio buddy about 50 miles south of me who is a DX freak and he said that the Ukraine Hams have been told to cease operating. However he said that he is still hearing Ukrainian call signs. He doesn't know if they are in Ukraine or just outside of it in one of the boarder countries. Whatever they're doing they are using their U call signs. If you want to give a listen, he usually talks to that part of the world on 20 meters and sometimes 40 meters.

By the way, 10-meters has been open for the past several days.
