Here is the SOI for this coming Tuesday's net. Based on propagation predictions April's digital and phone nets will be switching to 40-meters. Digital will be 7.110 USB and phone will be 7.254 Mhz LSB or higher till we find clear air.
The next ERIN net will be Tuesday May 31, 2022, starting at 1900 hrs. eastern with the digital ERIN net. The PACE for that net is as follows,
1) At 1900 hrs. eastern the digital net (I am on frequency at 1850 hrs eastern) will commence.
Primary 7.110 Mhz USB Contestia 4/250 1000 on the Waterfall
Alternate 14.070 Mhz USB Contestia 4/250 1000 on the Waterfall

Emergency Text. Do I have your cell phone number?
When the Net Control Station (NCS) calls for check-in's this is the reporting format,
de your call/name/location/emergency traffic/ de your call
Once the NCS has gathered check-in's he/she will post the check-in's for corrections or additional check-in's.
The NCS will then start the reports portion of the digital net. Report format will be,
de your call/name/location/traffic if any/your report for around your AO, Covid, unrest, military movement, petrol/diesel prices, inventory depth/outs, food prices, etc/weather/de your call
Please make sure your RXId button at the top right of your Fldigi screen. This allows folks to send their report via Flmsg. Probably, in the future, we will send reports via Flmsg as it is faster and you can save reports to your computer. Time to get familiar with the mode.
Suggestion...Pre type out your report then copy & paste it to your FLdigi when it is your time to give your report.
2) At 2000 hrs (I am typically on frequency at 1950 hrs. eastern) the voice net will commence.
Primary 7.254 Mhz LSB or higher till clear air
Alternate 3.807 Mhz LSB or higher till clean air

The above SOI will be used at first, if the interwiz is taken down through Executive Order -- Assignment of National Security and Emergency Preparedness Communications Functions. Then we will develop and share a revised SOI.
As we move into a new propagation season, I will have available a new ERIN SOI for when the interwize goes down or other drama occurs that causes a breakdown in normal communication. If you would like a copy of that SOI, please drop me a PM and I will send to you.

Not a fan of switching to 40m. I know a bunch of the AmRRON guys have been unsuccessful as well. Good luck tonight, 40m has been dead almost all day.
-
Last week we had seven check-ins on digital, and seven folks who checked in on phone, both on 40-meters.
Is anybody else that checks into the ERIN net, digital & phone net, having challenges on 40-meters? I will be more than happy to change the PACE if there is enough feedback to do so.
Thanks Obh and all that participate.

Your signal is excellent S9+30dB at this distance in coastal Virginia on the dipole..

I know myself, dks, jmc were able to hear you but not the other way. I'm surprised ground wave didn't work for me. I saw their check ins and report.
-
INTERESTING .
OKAY WE WILL TRY 7.254 FOR THE PHONE AT 2000 HRS BUT IF NO RADIO JOY WE WILL GO TO THE ALTERNATE 3.807. STAND BY. ;D
-
40 meters has been very good for me. 80 hasn't been working too well, between distance and propagation.
-
I could hear all the net participants 59+ tonight, even over the lightning static crashes.
-

-
I was glad that the storm was moving away from me just as the Phone net was getting started. I hooked everything back up and the only problem I had was the static crashes were so strong that they caused the radio's AGC to push the signals way down for a second or two but even then, I could still hear everybody. Now, as to the 80 meter, 40 meter thing. I could go either way with that. Unless there is a problem with me sending or receiving, I'll just go with the flow with either band.
-
Alright, alright, alright........ There aren't supposed to be any storms in my AO so I hope to be ready for the ERIN Phone Net at 8pm. However, it's been a bit windy out there all day.
-
Solid copy on everyone tonight on the net. No static crashes!
-
Only one station on digital last night :-[ Would love to hear from folks if 40-meters is tough for you on digital or it was such a beautiful day you did something more fun than tap keys on a key board.
Had a bunch of folks on phone which was great. I am stoked to hear folks that have an issue making the trip on 75-meters this time of year.

My computer crashed during CQ's on digital tonight. See ya' on the phone net. Sorry.
-
What a cooincidence - my computer failed too. Loaded in Cooter's message early, standing by, hit TUNE on the FLdigi software to minimise the SWR and zip... no transmitted audio. Settings did not help. restart - same problem.
Kids, THIS is why I love Morse code ("CW"). Reliability , no back doors, no screen captures and no interface needed, other than ears and some moving bodily appendage (take your pick) to presss the key.
See You On The Radio voice net to pass the message for Cooter and myself.
Sir John Honeybucket
Ps. Cooter passed me his ERIN report from over 600 miles away , earlier today, using a CW QRP rig the size of a deck of cards and his very portable wire antenna. Hands sent Morse - it's the LAST TO DIE.
-
On 7.256 Mhz To much noise on 7.254. \"/
-
Solid copy on everyone again this week. Great band conditions!
-
In all my years of Ham Radio, I've never heard 40 meters as quiet as it was tonight. Super good copy on everyone.
-
YOUUUUUUUUU-HOOOOOOO!?!
Donde' esta El Jeffe? JM no estan en la radio.

LATER:
Tonight's net screen capture was e-mailed to Johnymac for his viewing pleasure. Thanks for your patience , everyone. I'm a wiz on a Morse key but a low grade chimp on a keyboard.

looks like we have a POTA on 7.254. He told me that he would be off by 2000 hrs but I do not think that will happen. LOL. Clean air at 7.257 IF he doesn't sign off off 7.254 I will be there.
-
okay on 7.254 Mhz. Start calling at 1950 hrs
-
Decent copy on everyone through the lightning/static crashes. Thank you, Johny, for hosting another net!
-
I had a good copy on everyone tonight. There were light static crashes, but the Noise Reduction kept that stuff to a minimum.
-
THERE ARE A LOT OF TRAFFIC TONIGHT ESPECIALLY WITH PARKS ON THE AIR. I AM TRYING TO FIND CLEAN AIR. PLEASE STAND BY.
-
7.287 SEEMS TO BE CLEAR. I WILL MEET YA' ALL THERE...
-
I had a good copy on the NCS and VA stations, and Jim, the others were in the noise.
-
I will be posting ERIN's June SOI later today.
We will stay on 40-meters for phone as I am happy to be copying stations from south of the MD line however, based on written input and only averaging 4-6 check-ins on digital, I will be switching back to 75-meters for digital in June.
Stand-by for the updated June SOI.

JMc

I'm listening at 3.588 USB Data up and down the band and I got nothing. I also checked out 7.110 and I got nothing there either. I'll check the phone net at 8 PM.
