I found a really good 2 meter antenna in the back of my old pickup truck. Its one of those 7 foot tall 5/8 wave over a 1/4 wave antennas that has the 1/4 wave white sleeve in the middle. Those things will out talk most every other 2 meter antenna I've ever used. I've got the Antenna and the Mounting Bracket. All I have to do is make one of my Basketball radial ground planes for it. Some of my Ham friends use them for Base station antennas with great success. I'll have to finish the radial system and then connect it to my antenna analyser to see it it also resonates on 440 or maybe even 220. Now I have to see if I can come up with some metal pipes that will telescope it up at least 30 feet.
