➤ ➤ ➤ SitRepNet CommPlan for JS8
« on: April 08, 2025, 09:16:06 AM »
Simple is Good. The SitRepNet CommPlan is 3 pages long, and about as simple as a communications plan can get. SitRepNet uses JS8Call and JS8Spotter to share SitReps and other information, either actively by initiating the transmission, or passively by having those reports available for others to download.

Download it here - https://sitrepnet.com/index.php/sitrepnet-commplan/

The SitRepNet Communications Plan (CommPlan) provides the structure for a decentralized way to share Situation Reports (SitReps), arrange impromptu nets to address specific events, and collect and distribute information at the local level. The SitRepNet project is, in essence, establishing a common language to allow individual stations to more effectively communicate without using the command structure of a conventional net. It is a network, but not a net. Nets are important, and SitRepNet works alongside established organized nets (such as AmRRON, MAGNET, SEEN, ERIN, PrepperNet, etc.) to share information that formal nets cannot efficiently do while maintaining their core objectives.

JS8call serves as a radio bulletin board.  Anything posted anywhere on the 'board' is readable by others.  FLdigi is excellent for the purpose of directed nets, sending larger files, often formatted, to a dispersed group.  OTOH, JS8call is superb for initial contacts to set-up skeds, send SITREPS, SALUTE reports for wide spread distribution.  Being a mode that works waaaay down intot he noise level -24dB is commons, improvised, indoors or otherwise compromised antennas and very low power are generally not a problem.  I ONLY wish that there was a version of JS8call software for the Android, so that I could carry a last ditch JS8call station using my cellphone, like I can for FLdigi ( ANDmsg app).

Excellent! Thank you, sir! I'll be sending a piece of traffic on this evening's ERIN net about this also. FYI, I've been working closely with KF7MIX, developer of JS8Spotter on this project, so much credit goes to him.
