Jackalope and PK-EZ just throwing out a date here for the next Unchainedpreppers net.
In the future lets shoot for the fourth Friday of the month. This could change based on holidays and interest.
With that written the next date would fall onto Dec 23rd, one day before Christmas eve. I suggest we shoot for Dec 30th.
What are your thoughts?
I received several messages via email and on 2meter with folks regretting they blew off/forgot last Fridays (11/25) UP Net.
Thoughts on net topics for Dec.?
A couple of mine are:
> Getting Turkeys and Chickens to lay eggs in the winter months,
> Buying the right dog (s) for your BOL and SHTF scenarios, and
> Alternate lighting when the electric goes out.

Jackalope, you've almost got it right. Its PKVZ. Don't worry about it though. You wouldn't believe some of the things that people thought I said when giving my name to them on the radio. Any of the subjects you listed for the next net seem OK to me. As for the date, I prefer the 23rd. Either way you're going to end up on the Eve of the Eve of a holiday. Between Christmas and New Years, a lot of people use that time to travel and it might cut down on the number of people that can participate in the net.

O-Kay, I am back at the cabin after spending some time in the Philly area for Christmas. I would like to hold a Unchainedpreppers net on December 30th at 2000 hrs eastern (0100 hrs Zulu 12/31/16).
As usual we will start the net at 3.968Mhz LSB (Lower Side-band) and move up the dial to find clear air if need be.
7.183Mhz LSB (40 Meter's) will be the back-up frequency if 75 meter falls apart Friday night.
Topics will be:
Suggested topics:
A) Starting 2017 vegetable seedling's,
B) QRP/CW 5 watt radios, and
C) Maple syrup/sugar making.
Please pass the info along on other forums and to friends who would like to join the net.

Thanks to some lake affect snow Jackalope and I are skunked. I did hear Jackalope briefly but he faded quickly. Sorry PKVE never did hear ya'.
Now all morning I was on 20 meter ragchewing with folks in Toronto, Quebec, British Columbia, Italy, Iowa, and Arkansas. But tonight I am only getting static. :facepalm:
Had about three folks set up to participate tonight too plus 3+ from UP...DANG!
Who would like to try 20 meter Saturday? If so suggest a freq/time.
