Cuban Government jamming on 40-meter band

Sure most have heard of it, but the Commie Cuban government is jamming a good bit of the lower part of 40m, from about 7100-7200. They have fixed jamming stations located throughout Cuba that were originally to jam Radio Marti, but with the current crisis, they are trying to prevent Cubans with radios from either hearing news from outside the country or communicating with the US. Still quite a few getting through. W7HU livestreams on YT most evenings at https://www.youtube.com/user/n2adf/videos although it helps to know a little Spanish, he does a lot in English too. Not sure about Cuban HFDF capabilities, but I'm sure they're out looking for people transmitting. Stay tuned for further developments.

   I don't see it as a big deal.  Heck, the Russian Woodpecker wiped out a good portion of the HF bands during the 1980's, but we still made contacts.  Good operators will still be capable of getting information.  You can't stop the signal, though they will try.

The jammers are powerful but spread out on the band, big gaps in between. Not sure how frequency-agile they are. Can't hear them much here until dark, then it really shows up on the scope. And it does nothing to stop CW. But most people would have to rely on an op to transcribe it for them, which can work. Doubt many Cuban hams are set up for digital.
