DE MY CALL ^r
I start the CQ CQ CQ typically, 5 to 10-minutes before the start of the net at 1900 hrs eastern; Consequently, I do respond to each check-in when they happen vs. some other NCS with a quick TX
their call/ de my call/ got ya'/ de my call ^r then when I think I received all checkins I relist them and at the end of list I write,
OK KC5xxx you are first up report please/de my call^rOnce they are done with their report I go to the next in line of check-in and write,
KC5xxx thanks for your report/W2ERY your report please/ de my call ^r REPEAT!
About half way down the check-in list, I take a pause and ask if there is any other folks who would like to check-in.
I typically write out reply's as I am reading stations reports. This cuts down on response time. Yes on occasion I have to go back and make a correction before I hit TX
Keep in mind that folks typically do not pretype their report so there will be a delay as much as one minute before they start to TX. Patience grasshopper...Patience.
Okay, any questions, ask them here as others may have the same question?
So this week jhm is NCS and next week Kevin is NCS. Once you two folks do the deed let's circle back and write a SOP for the digital net. Then, let's get volunteers to do it weekly on a round robin basis.
Once we conquer that task, lets work on the phone protocols and start a round robin there too.
