160 Meters.
« on: September 11, 2021, 06:29:03 PM »
Since 160 meters is generally a nighttime band, I'm going to get on somewhere just below 1.9 Mhz and try some CQ calls. Hopefully, some of you will read this and maybe we can check it out together as to distance and signal quality. It's about 6:30 PM and I'm going to fire up in about 15 to 30 minutes from now. Why 15 to 30 minutes? Because I'm hungry and I'm going to get a bite to eat first.

Hmmm.... Well, I made a few calls on 1.895 Mhz and got a contact with a Maryland station near Baltimore. We chatted for a while and then I heard what sounded like someone saying George. Hmmm..... maybe he was saying Georgia. I don't know. He was way down in the noise.
