Stop the Bleed class

Took one tonight and it was a great course for what it is. Only 1 hour long and covers tourniquet usage and wound packing. It is no subsitute for a TCCC class but is great as a starter and for using to teach our family and friends how to stop major bleeding for everything from mass shootings and MVCs to home accidents with power tools without being all tactical and intimidating. It could also be a gateway for some into the world of preparedness. Highly recommended!

That’s so awesome! I’m glad you took one. They are definitely a very basic stepping stone, but a stepping stone none the less. Can’t complain too much about free training.

My goal for the June class (and others that I end up doing) is for them to be a bridge point. I want them to bridge the gap between a basic Stop The Bleed/first aid class and a full on Dark Angel Medical/Lone Star Medic course. Bring anything you want to test/get used to using. It’ll be the perfect place to pressure test your gear.

I plan on bringing my usual IFAK to test out everything I would actually carry. That way I am familiar with what I have on hand and can actually use it to see if it works for me.
