Man you guys hang out with a bunch of pussies.

But seriously guys, your level of physical fitness will be the single most important factor in your survivablity post collapse.

I am not in the greatest shape, none of us are. We all need to step it up. Should the next contest be a fitness contest?

yeah that might be cool but i think we might get some sand baggers that suddenly can lift twice the weight or run a mile twice as fast... lol

It looks like Mountain started something here.   :)

I agree, most of us could probably stand to get in a little better shape.

Us AK guys can start out with the Spetsnaz Pushups discussed in another thread a little while back.

Rminder:
AK47 Spetsnaz Pushups - 2 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=po_UUm4GeJQ#ws)

You AR guys can do sit ups.  LOL!  Just playing guys!  But really, don't try the push ups with an AR.  They're made for shooting.

Thanks for starting this topic Mountain.

Looks like it's time to rock 'n roll...down a hill. Then run up, backwards, with a ruck, blindfolded, and with my legs tied.

Bring it on! :))

Hey Sledge, was that PM Putin in that video? Sure looked like him.

Good luck and enjoy the road to your goal Mountain. You will be doing one arm push-ups with your .357 mag in no time.

I need to add: Havinga goal of loosing 50#'s in 30 or so days is a hefty goal. May I suggest 25#'s by Christmas and another 25#'s by Presidents Day in February. Running 2 miles by Christmas is totally doable. We would hate to loose you Mountain.

LOL!  Yeah, it kind of looks like Putin JM but I don't think it's him.  This guy doing the push ups had his shirt on.

I think Johny is right dude, 50lbs in 1 month is way to fast. Shoot for slow and steady dude. 5-10lbs a month can be done by just cutting out sugar. 10-15lbs a month for just cutting out sugar and working out some.

You are a big fucking dude and you need to work into it so you don't get injured, which would set you back seriously. Another concern is that you want to make a life style change while you are losing this weight and it takes time to replace bad habits with good ones.

I want you to do it right so it lasts.

the weight thing was just what came to me at the time

but i am going to cut out all the pop (like 2 liters a day)
and get into working out again

worked out yesterday and when i was at work today i felt GREAT kinda weird but i felt awesome all day only explanation was working out the day before

ok guys so far this is what i got going for my routine,

cut the sugars and fast food, eat 3 regular meals
cut out the soda slowly

get a better sleep schedule

and do an exercise 3 times a week
i start out with a 1/4 mile jog
come back and stretch out real good
do about 400 jumping jacks
do some situps
do some dips and push ups
then do another run before i walk it all out

i figure its a pretty slow pace but i want to cut the fat and get my muscles back in gear before i start to work out

what do yall think?
suggestions?

I like that you are streching after warming up. Shitcan the idea that you are going to do a set number of anything. Just add to what you did last time and make sure to give yourself a pat on the back from time to time dude.

i just threw that number in because thats the only thing i actually got an accurate count on  :))

Well, I would like to start this, too. I'm at the tail end of a cold and have an annoying, long-lasting cough, plus I got a piece of glass in my foot (I think?). However, after those two annoying things are gone, I'd like to join in with you guys.

My last approx. weight: 270 lbs.

My likely in-shape weight: approx. 200 lbs.

I'm like you, Mtn...I drink a LOT of cokes, plus sweet tea and coffee. I get a ton of sugar. It's one of my worst habits. I think some pushups, situps and walk/runs on the treadmill are a decent start to help me lose the weight. I'd like to weigh 250 or so by Christmas, maybe less if I can swing it.

It's all about the mentality. If you can keep yourself from eating/drinking what is bad for you, it's a cake walk (pun intended lol).

Dude I went from 260 32% body fat too 205 18% body fat ... In 6 months.. it was a total bitch. ...running is the biggest bitch but it is also the mpst rewarding. I hate running with a Passion. But i do it cause i half too.

A month ago i stared lifting heavy weights.  I do 21's with 65 lbs... My calfs rock 200 most of my back workouts are in the 150lbs range...

What i can say is p90x works, that's what helped me drop the weight. I now am on a 1500   calorie diet. I only drink water and I hit the gym three times a week

My cardio is always a 5 min warm up. Then I hit the weights for 3 sets then cardio for 20 min then the weights for another 3 sets , 20 minutes of cardio and my final 3 sets.. then cool down and go home....

I hope this gives you some ideas, its what has worked the most forme

P90x is a workout program that is based on the HIT ( high intensity training)...its basicly one exercise as fast as you can !d then doing some kind of cardio for 2 minutes or less. then doing anther exercise....do this afew. times different cardio and different exercise....

Sorry I'm sure some one could of made a joke but i figure if you really wanna know ill share what I know

Thx Fuel Hogg.

I asked a friend of mine in FL. this evening who is a physical fitness guy and he explained it to me. He did it and lost a shit-ton of weight. The only negative thing he has to say about it was, "It was time consuming and took time away from his family & work.

Cut your gluten consumption. Simple tip, hard as hell to do, but I promise you'll notice more from that in one month than two months of exercise. Replace rice with quinoa. Higher protein and nutritional values. Stay away from soda and alcohol (not easy either).

I'm on week 3 of P90x.
I was somewhere around 168lbs when I started. Weight as of yesterday is 152lbs.

I do additional cardio though. I thought the KenpoX video was weaksauce, so I do another
"X"- cardio exercise in its place in the routine.

Another thing that I think helps is buying a cheap bike if you don't own one.
I bought a cheap "fixie" and I actually enjoy the hell out of riding it.
Most of the time just in circles around my neighborhood, late at night with my headphones on.
Fun/Healthy= WIN. Hiking is also awesome.

That's a great tip Tech, I've been looking for a good road bike for some time now because I like the workout.

Another way to look at a bike is that its a horse that doesn't eat... might make a great bugout vehicle.

A tip for you guys wanting p90x but dont want to spend the cash, check the torrents they have p90x and insanity. Insanity by the way kicked my ass and i didnt think i was in that bad of shape.

I did insanity (and stayed with it...90% of the time) for 4 or 5 weeks. I did what the diet said to do (had me eating MORE than what I did before?). I was sore. I started getting a little better and could do more reps. Didn't lose one pound. WTH?
