This topic was split from Boston Bombing Photo Dump and I use the less judgemental purple. thanks thatGuy
Took the words right out of my mouth. Not to mention they were feet from the bomb exploded. And if they were there to make sure nothing happened they did thee worst job EVER. Major fail on their part. The other thing I'm a little perturbed by is that we've not seen any released photos of the second bag? I only here stuff about the one explosion and not so much the other. ??? Speculating is pointless though. American's bought it and fell right back to sleep. Now if you'll excuse me I've got to go lather lotions and potions on my body. Poison ivy. What's weird is I've never been able to get it until now. I could literally roll in the shit and not get it. Go figure.

WW, sorry to hear that. I can't recall ever seeing any poison ivy anywhere outside of a book. That said I do seem to be allergic to every other plant I come in contact with.

Thanks man. I'm just shocked I got it. I can't even think of where I came in contact with it. Either that or I got something from the hospital I was at yesterday. It's in the same spot the blood pressure cuff they put on me was. :-\ Either way I expect it to be gone shortly. I've got a few tricks up my sleeve. ;D

Check out Jewel Weed, it likes to grow in the same places that poison ivy and apparently has some soothing effects.
I've only heard about it, never tried it. We don't have to worry about ivys, sumacs or oaks here. :(

None of that here. My Pap taught me to use the stuff when I was a kid though. There's some up at the farm, but today's to nice to spend 8 hours in the truck :P I'm not 100% sure, but I think it's dying down now. This is going to sound nasty, but I slathered bee proplis over it and wrapped it up over night. The itching is really mild and redness seems to be going away. Thanks for splitting the topic btw.

Just thoughts , you have not been out in the brush and its only in the BP cuff area ? Possibly they used the cuff on another pt who had something on them like poison ivey ,or something else your allergic to like their lotion, ,, also watch for signs of staph as MRSA can spread this way. Hope it resolves quickly .
Yeah, I'm a little concerned because of the location. Hence the bee propolis. If it gets any worse I'll head to the doctors, but for the time being it seems slightly better and not as red. I have been out in my garden a good bit and we usually get a ton if it. I'm just confused as to when I would've came in contact with it.

Post a picture
Not much to see at the moment. Just little red dots, but it's only in my arm hair follicles ??? . If it gets any worse I'll take a pic.

Very good man. I'm placing bets on the first infection since it's only on the location where the cuff was. I've never had circulation issues, no puss or yellow fluids, and it's not blanching. I started noticing tiny whiteheads earlier but they seem to be going down. The fact that all the follicles were turning red was what alerted me. Since it was suspect I went ahead and picked up Manuka honey. It's definitely stronger than the propolis and I've heard the UK uses it for treating staph infections including MRSA. I've also been using alcohol and pure magnesium oil to dry out the infection. Both seem to calm the itching as well. Thanks for the insight.

I was telling some people about my anomaly father. Who has a list of certain diseases that should have killed him many years ago. Including histoplasmosis (in the eye ball ) ameba right foot. ( the only thing saving him was a prior motorcycle wreck, the leg had been shredded and reattached at shine level so it couldn't progress ) and the worst and most dangerous. Bacterial meningitis IN THE BRAIN. Lol, my dads a fucking freak.
Well point of all this he actually also had gotten poison ivy into his bloodstream while assisting clean out a section of lake. Apparently there had been a section of lake that needed to be cleared of brush, problem is the brush was poison ivy. So the more they hacked and cleaned to more it soaked into the water and bodies of these two poor old bastards. Bam, so now he's highly allergic to poison ivy poison oak.
Still hasn't stopped him though. The weirdo.

Reaver I'm sorry to hear that. I'll keep him in prayer bud.
I never thought about the oils getting in to the water, but I know you should never burn the stuff. An old neighbor of ours had a bunch growing and decided to burn it along with his brush. He was covered head to toe afterwards.

Man what a good tactic..
Find someone's camp with a little laxed security. Sneak on throw a few handfuls of ivy on the fire and sneak out. Lol, observe as they soak in misery. Lol

:)) Truthfully it'd probably work just as well if you place the ivy in lamp oil for a while then took it out. That'd be a a hell of nasty prank though.
