Physical Fitness Accountability thread
« on: April 22, 2012, 12:45:35 PM »
In this thread we can mention all the stuff we have done to become physically fit each day/week/month etc., and use it as a motivational tool to encourage ourselves or others on here to get in shape and stay there.

* Last week I walked 10 miles one day and another walked 7 miles with a backpack.

* Setup heavy bag and have been doing some boxing workouts with it. Doing more pullups, capoeira workouts to burn fat, and some weight free muscle building exercises.

* Went hiking tuesday in Verdugo mountains with some chick and got fatigued 3/4 of the way to the top. I felt like a complete pussy since she was still ready to go all the way to the top. It was sad that she was dancing all the way to the bottom as I followed along in shame. [img]http://www.arrse.co.uk/at

*Friday let my male ego get to me and left my house at 6am and walked across the San Gabriel Valley and hiked to the top of Mount Wilson. (badass experience and my body was definately pushed to the limit but my mental mindset carried me through it. Everday I look at the mountains from my front door and see those radio antennas Ill remember that I made it up there.) Started out with a skateboard backpack with 5 1/2 quarts of water and some food bars.

*Changed eating habits. I only drink water and milk (90% of the time is water) right now unless I go out and drink which has probably only been once in the past 2 weeks. Trying stay away from junk food and enjoy home cooking. Eating meat and greens as much as possible and working to avoid eating to much bread.

I usually try to get in shape and give up but this time feels really different. My body seems to be responding to it well. My body feels sore all over but I do feel stronger and more confident mentally. I start training in my new job this week which is in security so I think that will motivate me to continue to get in better shape. Dont want my ass to get kicked.

Also later this week I'm hitting the same trail with the same girl.

I've been doing this in the " What have you done to prep today " thread.

My latest workout routine has my arms like a T-Rex... that's how you know you smoked your self.

Yea my arms are starting to shape up pretty damn nice. Still a bit of fat but muscle is breaking through. Forearms are almost solid though. My calves are almost solid too, especially after the Mt. Wilson excursion.  Thighs have alot of fat (especially the inner area) and my stomach still needs to make the switch from Beer Keg to Six Pack.

It'll be interesting to see what I look like by JUNE.

Mentioned a while back in the "mountain project" thread, that I bought a hipster fixie bike.
It took me 1.5 months, averaging 12mi. a day, 7 of those strenuous up hill, 5 days a week-

I lost 20lbs.

I now ride 16mi. flat terrain, 5 days a week.
I have changed my diet habits, I eat paleo 100% of the time.

I am looking into Crossfit, probly join next week.
I also, after 15 years, quit smoking. I do not remember when I stopped, but it has been months.

Mentally, Physically, and Spiritually- I'm on top of the motherfucking world.

Well  about 2 1/2 weeks ago I was out eating breakfast and my jeans were falling off even though I had a belt on. They were a waist 36.

Last thursday I went and bought some pants for concert security work and they were a waist 32!  [URL=http://www.smileyvault.co

I havent been as gung ho lately but I have been doing alot of walking and body weight workouts. My arms and legs are decently toned but my gut still looks like it did before I started working out. Ive kicked up the abs and cardio workout. Been walking 3 miles one way to a labor agency looking for work (and saving money on gas) and walk another 3miles back when I dont get anything.

ran for an hour. Went a little under 6 miles. Lungs and legs were good, it was the feet that was killing me at the end.

Did my Crossfit consultation workout today.
Within 8 minutes, I was either gonna pass out or puke, then I felt like I needed an instant nap.

Needless to say- I'm joining.  [URL=http://www.smileyvault.co

I once weighed myself about a year ago and was around 225lbs. After I had started working out, the beginning of spring,  I weighed myself in about late April and weighed 189lbs. The other day I weighed myself and I am under 160lbs. Ive mostly been concerned with weight loss but my toning and muscle growth is impressive. Im plan to kick up my efforts a couple notches to lose my unnecessary weight than focus primarily on gaining muscle.

I try to change my fitness program up. Most days I run 6-7 miles and 100 push ups and 250 sit ups (not as fit as I used to be). Then I shower and head to work when I get home I will run another 4-5 miles to cadence followed by 150 pullups. After that I have dinner of mostly protein I.E. meat, and non complex carbs. I follow that up with a furious masterbation session. Stay Frosty!

Been running 2.5mi. up this Mo-fo couple times a week, obviously it's a 5mi. round trip.
Walk the dog every night roughly 2mi.

Still eating Paleo. Bought a kettlebell, that kicks my ass.
Standard kettlebell workout, 200 swings or swing for 10min. straight, no stopping. Whatever comes first.

Down a total of 30lbs. I have no target weight, just health.
I believe, since I would like a 6 pack, I should start working my abs instead of just doing cardio and shedding excess
fat. We'll see. I'll give Ab Ripper X a try 3 times a week.

Hey Tech, did that hipster ass fixie come with the insta-gram app you ran that photo though :o

I tease, a decent road bike is worth it's weight in gold. I picked up an old Peugeot and it blows my mind how in touch I am with the world around me, how little if feels like work and the ground I can cover.

Right on! Cycling sure beats running in many ways. Running is "High Impact" and seems to take more of a toll on my knees and such. Back to cycling for a while for me, until the snow gets too deep anyway.
