New class dates!
« on: June 22, 2020, 11:10:13 AM »
I was finally able to sit down and get some dates to NCScout for some classes and we’ve nailed down dates for two classes this year.
25-26 September and 7-8 November are the dates. As always go to NCScouts blog for all the information for the classes. There’s a packing list from the last class that is unchanged if you’re curious what to bring. I’m ready to get back into the groove of it and to meet up with some of y’all again and for the first time. This year has shown how important medical training is the partisan. Don’t miss out!

I think that is great if I understand it correctly. I assume you are planning to do some instructing on medical training at NC Scouts compound. I have a really dumb question about clotting powder. My wife takes blood thinner medicine so I bought some clotting powder just in case she gets cut. My med supplies are pretty extensive and it might take me a couple of minutes to find the clotting powder. Would you recommend that I find it and put it right on top of all the other med supplies? Would direct pressure be good enough until I can dig out the package? :what:

Clotting powder does not work for life threatening bleeds. I would recommend Chitosan Gauze as it works independently of the bodies clotting factors.

Thanks, I wrote it down so I wouldn't forget it. By the way, I tried to reach the Williamston repeater again because I noticed that I wasn't running full power. At 60 watts, I was able to bring up the repeater. That repeater is pretty far away so the 2 meter band might have been open a bit better than normal. I'll make a few more calls to see if I can hit it on a regular basis.

I tried to hit the Williamston, NC repeater again and I was still able to bring it up. That thing is 84 miles South of me. Even though I can access it, I'm pretty sure my signal will be really weak.

PK;
I tried Quik-Clot on a patient in our clinic.  He was on Coumadin, and the Quik-Clot did not work all that well.

Excellent news brother! I will hopefully be down for one of them. It will be great to see you again.
Blessed be the LORD my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight: My goodness, and my fortress; my high tower, and my deliverer; my shield, and he in whom I trust; who subdueth my people under me.
