I need a bit of motivation. I'm ~285 right now though I don't look like it. I do kettle bells, which helps quite a bit with strength, but the area I'm struggling with is weight loss. I used to run a lot when I was younger, but at the weight I'm at, it is hard on my knees and ankles.

Protias,
first, welcome to the site.
Second, it's all about intake and physical exertion.
Just a suggestion, try to keep your intake of daily calories to under 2,000. There is plenty of 'on line' sites that can help you figure that out.
Concerning physical exertion; try to do something that is physical but is useful. Recently at camp. I lost 10 #'s in about three weeks by controlling food intake and cutting, then splitting 3 cords of wood plus some other physical activities.
Good luck... [URL=http://www.smileyvault.co

And if you aren't a rugged mountain man like JohnyMac you can always hit up the local pool or a bicycle for a great low/no impact workout.
Remember it's all cardio and carbs brother. Welcome to the site.
