Lost 22 lbs in 3 months!

Last year I was getting back into shape and once again injured myself.
So Stopped working out but still ate normal.

By early March I had blown up to over 260 lbs, a gain of 25 lbs!!!!  :facepalm:

So I got serious starting with a long work trip where I only ate the free hotel breakfast and at end of shift instead of going to the Bar/restaurant with my collegues I would go to the hotel gym or pool ( sometimes both in a row).. this trip was 3 weeks long...
Lost 7 lbs on that 3 week trip BUT my increases in shape was much greater than that number would indicate as I felt my agility strength and wind coming back.

When I got back home I continued a good exercise regiment and less food ( though both improvements less extreme than on that trip)
Even so I kept losing weight albeit slower.
Than I got sick last week and I lost another 5lbs in a single week.
Its a bit of cheating but I'll take it.

I am resolved to keep going down in weight.

 Good on you. Keep it up.
 I went from 202 to 165 but it took a very long time. I still work out three times a week. Also had a yard sale today and sold my very large pants and shirts.
 What weight do you want to maintain?

Try the atkins diet, it worked for me when I did it plus I felt great!

It a high protein/low carb diet and you can eat all you want

First off, great going guys (Hey what happened to the gals on this site).

I started with a new local Dr. as driving to RI for my GP got a little silly.

Well the purpose of this tale is to say I got on the scale ready for the big number at the Dr.'s office since it was the first time I had weighed myself post the LONG winter. Surprise, surprise I had not gained my usual 15 lbs I typically gain over the winter.

Similar to what Grizz wrote, I stayed away from carbs and cut by portions to half what I normally ate through-out the winter.

When MrsMac and I go out to a restaurant I do similar, I either only eat a portion of the carbs on my plate or not at all. Bread is cut in half of what I usually eat. Instead of eating a 12-16 ounce chunk of steak, I cook only one steak that weighs 18-20 ounces. Then MrsMac and I share it. More times than not we have a little left over.

Anyhow, like what Erick wrote, its all about the balance between the intake vs. the outtake.

Now that summer is here and I am working myself like a rented mule, I hope to get down to 199 lbs. So that is a 21 lb loss goal by October 1 of this year.

Good job brother. I too have lost a decent amount of weight in the last year (Approximately 55lbs). I still eat like shit, but I eat less of it. I'm still eating fast food 3 meals a day. I do have a very physical job as well and I only know how to work at 100mph so the whole day is like a cardio/weight training day. You should see me operate a pick or shovel... lol. My coworkers shake their head when I carry 24" box trees by myself.

 Literally all we have to do to lose weight, is eat less calories than our body burns. You could do it eating lard for every meal. All the fancy diets are just an effort to think of ways to get people to stay in a deficit by making the diet more enjoyable, filling etc.

 I agree with you 100%. That's how I lost my weight, I eat everything just smaller portions and I eat three meals a day. My wife has been on one of those fancy diets and exercise and it has taken her a year and a half to lose 24 lbs.
